On a scorching day in downtown Phoenix, when the temperature soars to 115°F or higher, heat becomes a lethal force. Sunshine assaults you, forcing you to seek cover. The air feels solid, a hazy, ozone-soaked curtain of heat...

On the outskirts of the city, power lines sag and buzz, overloaded with electrons as the demand for air conditioning soars and the entire grid is pushed to the limit. In an Arizona heat wave, electricity is not a convenience, it is a tool for survival.

As the mercury rises, people die. The homeless cook to death on hot sidewalks. Older folks, their bodies unable to cope with the metabolic stress of extreme heat, suffer heart attacks and strokes. Hikers collapse from dehydration. As the climate warms, heat waves are growing longer, hotter, and more frequent. Since the 1960s, the average number of annual heat waves in 50 major American cities has tripled. They are also becoming more deadly...
Rolling Stone

Well, that's one way for major cities to deal with the homeless problem - just give it a few years and wait until they all roast. Stick a fork in and you'll know that they're done. The electric companies should also be happy, they're going to make a killing (no pun intended) on all those air conditioning units running full steam ahead.

This phenomenon is yet another climate feedback loop. The hotter it gets, the more electricity will be required to keep homes and businesses livable. The more electricity we use, the more coal gets burned, putting even more CO2 into the atmosphere and making it that much hotter. The hotter it gets...

I live here.

On that same 115° degree day several million people went about their day, business as usual.

I'm not going to stop living just because it's hot out.

And I'm from Wisconsin.

You could help save on coal emissions by not complaining about it on the internet. We must all make sacrifices...

The human race, well, the right-wing lunatics among us to be precise, have decided that we should conduct a great experiment on ourselves. That experiment, which includes us, these lunatics as well as their children, is to see how far we can stretch this planet's resources, change the composition of the atmosphere, pollute every nook and cranny of the earth and dump a trillion tons of co2 into the atmosphere and see where it will all lead. Though the evidence is overwhelming that we we causing irreparable damage to the planet, these lunatics stay in the way of any efforts to deal with this problems.

Even the lowest of life forms, including bacteria, know not to kill or irreparably harm its host or the body that supports them.

That is One for bacteria, Zero for right-wing lunatics.
