Okay, maybe I missed it, but I did not read about this until I checked the BBC news site today.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49532731

There are so many questions I have after reading this, but the fact that it has taken 18 years (and that, according to the link, CIA documents confirm that he was waterboarded 183 times) is just mind-boggling to me.

I think the Sheikh has sung like a canary over the past 18 years, but when someone is shoving a hose down your throat it probably makes one more liable to discuss matters. Perhaps they are planning on emptying our infamous black site Gitmo and shipping these guys off to Florence, Colorado.

Absolutely ridiculous. 18 years for the trial, 183 incidents of torture. Yea, the US and its "values", lol.

Totally ridiculous that this has taken that length of time, and we have wasted millions of dollars on Guantanamo.

No, it just makes people make things up in an attempt to get it stop. Being kept incommunicado for 18 would make the vast majority of people crack.

I agree that torture is counter-productive and immoral and should be outlawed, but I'd make an exception for this guy.

Morals and ethics should not make an exception for anyone. If the US thinks it would be immoral for one of its own to be treated as such, well, perhaps the US should not treat anyone that way also, it is called setting an example.

Funny how this guy is called the architect of 9/11...thought is was Bin Laden..but then IF u ever saw the FBI's top 10 wanted list on THEIR web site 9/12/2001 u would have noticed he was NOT wanted for 9/11. Not only waterboarding this guy 183 times but threatening to crush his young sons testicles with pliers likely had him "singing" any tune we wanted to hear. We destroyed Nazi's for this type of behaviour. Dead men and those tortured into crying babbling drooling veggies tell no tales of truth...the real truth. Kinda like Bin Laden..we wack him dump his body into Bay of Bengal. Why didn't we capture him bring him here and put him on trial? Ditto Saddam... easy under our laws these assets of the U.S. would have sung and provided documents and witnesses detailing decades of our creating dictators/terrorists to use for our own agenda and that of the military/industrial complex/new world order.
