Let's say I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, my hands are greatly 'impaired', my shoulders won't let me raise up my arms enough to wash my hair and I have to use a walker. A bad person breaks down my door and is advancing towards me. The Police are 5 minutes away and I don't own a gun. How do I defend myself?
Do I sacrifice myself to make you feel better? So, Jo, what do I do? Will you be there to protect me?
You are going to waddle over to get your gun with a walker and successfully shoot the person, with your arthritic shoulders, who already broke down your door?
The PSTD never really ends for those who lost a loved one to or witnessed a mass shooting.

How about using a legally purchased handgun? You wouldn't be able to get to, much less hold and fire, an assault rifle. All these mass shootings are not the result of handguns (although there are exceptions)

All mass shootings are usually the result of these weapons. I realize that 99.5% of these gun owners are not criminals of any kind, but we cannot continue to do nothing and expect the situation of mass shootings to lessen.
People have had enough. We need to start restricting new purchases. Current owners simply need to register their weapons, having one that is not registered will be the same thing as me carrying a concealed weapon in Illinois without a permit. It's legal with a permit, a felony without one.
