The real problem I have with the climate change narrative is the long time scales involved. I'm sorry, but I think we've got bigger fish to fry between now and then. Plastics in the ocean. Obesity epidemic. Parents who don't know how to raise children. The drug epidemic. The soaring rates of childhood mental diseases. The list goes on and on.

Somehow, I get the feeling we're going to meet our demise long before the climate change boogeyman gets us. He's just too darned slow.

It’s not realistic to ask everyone on the planet to revert to a pre-industrial existence. It’s not going to happen. Look at what happens when there is an extended blackout in a developed country.

Right now, the only economical alternative to fossil fuels is nuclear fission. If we really want to make big reductions in co2 emissions, we will need to rapidly deploy nuclear power. There are new small modular reactors (SMRs) that are much less likely to melt down. Yes, there is still the problem of nuclear waste, but it’s arguably better than human extinction (assuming global warming really is an existential threat).

Default Climate hysteria: Liberal governments in America approving bans on natural gas appliances and balloons

First, it was bans on plastic bags, then straws, then foam containers.

Now, liberals want to ban cheap natural gas in new construction and also balloons for parties.

Balloon ban should stand. Danger to wildlife.

Otherwise it is a case of contrarian nature inbred in democrat socialists and liberals. Their refrain, no matter the issue, 'if the other is for it, we are against it'.

Justified, because they believe the other side to be invalid, unethical and immoral and any argument therefore is invalid by association.

Liberals prefer to live in a theoretical world divorced from reality. To make their point, they lie, exaggerate and embellish to defer reality in favor of unattainable theory.

However, we "reps" don't believe in the climate change hoax, thus there is no need for "action" on our part.

Dems sound the alarm about AGW, then do nothing, as they are too lazy and enjoy their lifestyle too much.
