Wait! Don't those kids' party balloons use helium? Helium is not in the same category as "natural gas" even though it is both a gas and "natural" Well, I'm sure Trump will penalize California for its evil ways just like when he made them use rakes to put out forest fires. Not to worry everybody!
The OP hasn't a clue what Democrats believe. No one believes there is only 11 years left. He needs to brush up on his facts before he posts.
I used to be a democrat and I don't know what they believe in anymore, so I walked away and turned independent. Everything they touch lately, goes to crap. And they don't care about the environment, at all. I live in the country, and the residents and I are fighting like crazy against the democrats who are pushing for a huge gated community development to go up right next to an Everglades restoration preserve. The developers are Canadian, and we know they paid the democrats to approve of it, and the only commissioner who tried to fight against it was the Republican. But he was out numbered 6 to 1, by the democrats who care more for revenue from the homes being built than the preservation of the natural habitats. So when democrats cry about climate change, I know they are full of crap!

But of course, it's Trump's and Republican's fault this is happening, like every other problem lefties can thing of to complain about.
But the sad truth is, the Republicans and Trump are to blame. The outsourcing of American manufacturing plants started to happen under Republican Richard Nixon. It carried on even more under Reagan, and then Bush sr drafted the NAFTA bill that Clinton signed. And Trump is just as guilty, as he and his family have had their clothing lines made in other countries. So yes, they are part of the problem.
I don't think it has to be a big huge New Green Deal. I mean that's a lofty plan but let's take baby steps.
I've brought home one plastic bag in the last month. I have reusable bags, or use paper.
I opt out of taking straws.
I have reduced red meat consumption --as much for my health as for the health of the planet.
I try not to use harsh chemicals....
Just little things.........
We did look into solar panels. We should have done it 10 years ago. It would have paid for itself by now but now we don't know if we will be here in 10 years....and whether WE sill see the benefit.
I try not to water my lawn every day. My grass is as green as my neighbors who water every day. So that's an easy thing to do.
Drive cars that get good gas mileage.
You know little things...we can all pick and choose and slowly adapt.
Otherwise it is a case of contrarian nature inbred in democrat socialists and liberals. Their refrain, no matter the issue, 'if the other is for it, we are against it'.
Justified, because they believe the other side to be invalid, unethical and immoral and any argument therefore is invalid by association.
Liberals prefer to live in a theoretical world divorced from reality. To make their point, they lie, exaggerate and embellish to defer reality in favor of unattainable theory.
Those Mylar balloons hit power lines and start fires off their mirror reflection. I have no problem with those not being used again. The city balloons end up all over our back country that is already fire prone from lightning, illegals and vehicle exhausts.
Because it has nothing to do with climate change or global warming. It is all about fleecing people to line the politicians pockets. Redistribution of wealth.
Maurice Strong, the Godfather of global warming. Head of the World Conservation Bank. Used to fund political campaigns and buy off elections.
So you think I should prefer being fleeced by the fossil fuel industry and their sycophants.
One of these days I'm gonna spend a couple weeks figuring out how much the rest of us are paying for fast cars and pick ups to go 85MPH while we tool along in our 35MPG 15 years old cars.
In your personal responsibility world how about users paying upfront for all things that pollute?
First thing I'd do is to stop flaring. How do they get the oil from the pump to the refinery? Putting in another pipeline for the methane or whatever would do a bunch of good.
