108 cyclones...just in Florida....in 49 years..........

In the period between 1900 and 1949, 108 tropical cyclones affected the state, which collectively resulted in about $4.5 billion (2017 dollars) in damage. Additionally, tropical cyclones in Florida were directly responsible for about 3,500 fatalities during the period, most of which from the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane. The 1947 season was the year with the most tropical cyclones affecting the state, with a total of six systems. The 1905, 1908, 1913, 1927, 1931, 1942, and 1943 seasons were the only years during the period in which a storm did not affect the state.

The strongest hurricane to hit the state during the period was the 1935 Labor Day hurricane, which is the strongest hurricane on record to strike the United States.[8] Several other major hurricanes struck the state during the period, including the 1926 Miami hurricane, the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane, and several Category 4 hurricanes in the period 1945–50.

..and hurricanes didn't get the global warming memo..because they are trending down > https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DOrk4_pX4AAqfIs.jpg
So that is your spin....If a hurricane doesn't make landfall in the USA it doesn't exist, right?

Mylar balloons can cause power outages and fires when they hit utility poles. Natural gas appliances are actually more energy efficient than electric appliances. Stoves, central heat, and water heaters work better than electric. Allow the consumers choices. Natural gas appliances reduce the load on the electrical grid. Power goes out you can still cook on a gas stove. Imagine the electric bill in the far northern areas if their only source for heat and cooking was electricity.

Wasn't it Obama that said "you didn't build that" - CA was the largest economy in the US when Reagan was Governor, and Republicans were in majority in CA.

Berkeley already banned Natural Gas also - https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/...l-14102242.php

Now, liberals want to ban cheap natural gas in new construction and also balloons for parties.

If you want to stay stuck in the 1940's mentality, fine, but don't fault other people for thinking differently than you do. All of the things you cite are killing our little planet, so if you don't care about future generations, that is too bad.

California is in a big fight with Trump over Obama’s CO2 emission standards over the next 25 years. They will reduce CO2 emissions by 32% in 25 years. TOMORROW, the Governor of California can reduce CO2 emissions in California by 30% by simply reducing the California the speed limit to 55 MPH. He doesn’t need ANYBODIES permission!!

Why is he fighting Trump without taking action on his own?? Democrats control over 70% of the miles driven in this country. California, Washington, Oregon can start reducing CO2 emissions by a huge amount tomorrow. The other Democrat controlled states can follow suit.

In Washington state, Governor Inslee and the Democrats gave Boeing 10 BILLION dollars in “illegal” tax breaks according to the WTO. Given the awful impact of jet travel on climate change isn’t it time to rescind the tax breaks and put additional CLIMATE CHANGE TAXES on Boeing to discourage air travel. Democrats control both houses of the Legislature and the Governors office. Republicans cannot stop it.....why are Democrats refusing to fight climate change by removing the tax breaks??

Democrats like carbon taxes and cap and trade which will raise gasoline prices in the neighborhood of SEVEN dollars a gallon. Devasting to rural areas without public transit, but in blue urban area it would have a huge impact on climate change and the money could be used for public transit. So why NOT local urban gas taxes of two and three dollars a gallon to get started??

In Seattle, the Clinton got 90% of the vote in 2016. That is how liberal the city is in its political outlook.

Surely, if the Democrat leadership starts implementing these proposals the blue states will support and cheer these changes....and they don’t NEED TRUMP!!

Time for the Democrats to get serious about climate change and set a good example for the rest of the country.
55 speed limit is a loser and whether democrat, republican or independent -- it should be opposed.

I'll tell you so what. It's f--king hypocrisy. That's the so what. It's a scam. It's do what I say and not as I do. It's give up AC and meat to save the planet while I gorge myself on both. It's drive an electric car around and take a train across country whilst I fly around in a giant, airborne, carbon plume emitter. LOL.

Climate alarmists paint a picture of a future that looks like a B-rated catastrophe movie and when confronted about the decades of failed predictions of this scenario, they'll say, "well, this kind of thing doesn't happen overnight. This could take 80 to 1000 years or more.". The fact of the matter is they don't know. It's just a guess.

We don't need to "fix" climate change. There is no climate catastrophe coming. You can't preach about the impending doom of sea level-rise and atmospheric carbon poisoning and then go out and buy a large swath of beachfront property with a huge resource-guzzling mansion. Do you see any solar panels on the property. Hell no, you don't. Why? Because they are f--king hypocrites!

If you want something to worry about, worry about the planet getting hit with an undetected meteor. No one will be worried about the ocean rising 1 cm a year for a thousand years and you'll see the climate change that killed the dinosaurs. Until then, you and all the rest of the worry-lemmings are a global laughing stock.
Bingo!!!! It's a scam.

Better question:

Why are Pubs hellbent on undoing whatever Dems do about global warming?

Just askin'...

You mean by encouraging fracking and the use on NG thereby lowering carbon output?

Should we copy Germany's plan? lol

Sorry world.... but right now there is just one answer, NUCLEAR. However... maybe in the future we'll find the holy grail of energy, but what it's not is... solar, wind, hydro, tidal, geo thermal etc.
