This whole story was a hoax, as are a good chunk of reported "hate crimes", many of them turn out to be hoaxes as well.
Anytime I hear the term "hate crime" being mentioned on the news, I immediately take it with a grain of salt.
I could not access the article -- and, interestingly, when I Googled "Amari Allen hoax", NOTHING came up! When someone posts an article I can read, I will probably be back to comment.
That girl needs to be expelled. She falsely accused her classmates of a HATE CRIME.
Buh bye.
I had to find a different article which said of the principal, He said the school feels "tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict."
First, why are they calling it a conflict? Secondly, the only hurt that should exist on her side is some steep punishment for what she's done.

Now that she has admitted to lying, since she is a minor, you shouldn’t find articles with her name. I would expect the pages out there with her name to either be retracted or edited. Please try to keep in mind that she is 12 - the adults who prematurely pushed this story into the news are a whole other story.

Yep. The girl needs to go. What she accused them of was a violent crime.
I hope the school parents aren't so brainwashed as to let this go. Oh my bad, yes that poor girl.

Thanks for posting that. I also agree absolutely with your comment.
Anyway, color me Gullible! I believed her.
Now I am wondering WHY she did this? Did someone put her up to it? I just cannot fathom why a 12-year-old girl would make up such a story on her own.
I am not excusing her at all, but I just don't understand why she would have said this.
P.S. And all you educators out there who said that you "knew" kids -- well, I admit that you were right, and good for you!
