Maybe you can find another case where a president asked a foreign president to dig up dirt on his opponent. I don't recall this ever happening in our history.
1. It's far from clear that it happened this time.
2. I'm not interested in other times, although I would guess it has happened often.
3. I'm interested in whether it is illegal.
Your answer needs to start with a numeral (probably 18) followed by "U.S.C.", or else you will demonstrate that you have no basis for calling it illegal.
House Democrats, kick-starting their impeachment inquiry into President Trump, subpoenaed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday, demanding he produce a tranche of documents related to the president’s dealings with Ukraine.
Let me tell you - the president of the United States has openly asked a foreign government for election assistance.

We've been going through this for almost three years, and I've never seen a reference to any statute that backs up your claim. And apparently you don't know of any such statute, either.
What a strange answer.
I would think that in three years you would have learned something about this.
BTW, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you have never learned (from this discussion forum nor in school) should not be enough to encourage you to make a false claim. In other words, desiring to believe some myth is not enough of a reason to believe it. Do your research.

Google is your friend.
Another admission that you have no idea what you are talking about. Google is my friend but not yours? What is wrong with you?
And, yes, in this case absence of evidence is evidence of absence. You claim something is illegal, you're wrong unless you can cite the statute.

Its not clear that Trump asked Zelenskyy to dig up dirt on Biden?
So you only care as long as its legal, no other issues with his actions. Pretty low bar for a president don't you think. But we have seen this before with refugee bans or using DOD funding for a border wall.

You can interpret Trump's wrods however you want, but your interpretation looks like an example of projection. When you investigate Trump you're going on a fishing expedition, whereas Trump was talking about an investigation regarding a specific event that actually happened. That's not asking someone to "get dirt".
Pompeo should do what AG Holder did and NOT show up.
I didn't realize Holder had been subpoenaed during Obama's impeachment inquiry. Oh, wait . . .
