This is a good summary of how Hunter Biden got involved in Ukraine, and how Joe Biden insisted Ukraine get rid of a corrupt prosecutor. The corrupt prosecutor then accused Joe Biden of collusion with his son, and this is how Trump found what he thinks is his scandal. The article points out that Hunter Biden’s cushion of privilege is normal for children of the elite.

But there appear to be no broken laws.

I do think this whole thing torpedos Biden’s candidacy. Hunter Biden should not have been on any board in Ukraine, and it is obvious why he was chosen to be so.

It is interesting that Biden basically extorted Ukraine in the dismissing of the corrupt prosecutor, which was supported by the European Union. But Joe Biden was not doing this for personal or political gain. His actions were not self serving, and he received no political advantage from doing so.

But—I think Biden is done as a candidate.

And Trump is not governing now; he is running for reelection. And he is running scared.

I agree. Bill Maher said recently, on his "Real Time" show, that politicians need to tell their kids to get real jobs. And this, of course, should apply to Trump's daughter and son in law as well. Neither of them is qualified for the roles they're playing.

That's a heck of a good summary. I agree.

It's fair to say that Joe Biden ran against the Swamp his whole life but then his son participated in it. Then not give him your vote.

That's how politics is played.

The other, though. Trump trying to create the impression of broken laws by getting an Ukrainian investigation connected to the Bidens is a new twist to an old game.

I'm not a Biden supporter, but why do you think a baseless smear campaign against him is the death of his campaign?

Experienced politicians have baggage. Biden has an extensive record and he is already being held to account for some of his past actions. But the revelation about Hunter Biden makes him even more vulnerable because he would be a tainted politician running against a demonstrably corrupt incumbent. I think voters would stay away from polls in disgust. But I think he will be defeated in early primaries. I have always felt that he was too old to run, and I feel he has showed that in some of what he has said. He is my age, by the way. I am well aware of the limited energy of old people.

The smear campaign is not exactly baseless, either. Sure no laws were broken, but Hunter Biden on a board when his father is in charge of relations with Ukraine looks bad. It does not seem ethical. And Biden himself practiced extortion, although not for political gain. I imagine this was not the first time the US had pressured countries to take some action, but now we see it. It just looks bad.

Biden will be out, Bernie can’t physically make it (sorry Bernie) as socialism is getting him all stressed out as not able to sleep well at night for lying on a daily base, will be bad for ones health.

Dcxr250 Warren will not able to get Facebook CA and Wall Street employees and their families to vote for her, and the remainder is already done before arrival.

Without Trump we would not even have known about Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and his brother and their wealth.

What a bunch of crooks!

George H.W. Bush's oldest son never got a real job and snorted coke until he was way past 40.

I think this "get a real job" thing only applies to Democrats.
