His decision and likely a wise one.

When asked for comment, the Venturas County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement saying, “As the event began to materialize, we became concerned with the behavior of some of the organizers of the event. Although I believe the organizers had good intentions, the event was moving in a direction we no longer felt comfortable supporting.”

Regardless of the political persuasion of any of the law enforcement officers, it would be a poor idea for them to be involved in a political rally during these touchy times.

Such things can go off the rails fairly fast. Some claim they showed up in Charlottesville to celebrate their glorious southern heritage. Then next thing they knew they were marching with people waiving swastikas, chanting Nazi slogans, and wanting to fight. Imagine their shock.

If this group wants to organize a fundraiser, then do that and leave politics out of it.

”The Fallen Officers Foundation organized the Blue Bowl to take place at a local high school on Sunday. The foundation had lined up donors contributing thousands of dollars to the family of Sgt. Ron Helus of Ventura County.”

They did organize the fundraiser as well as secured donors for the event only to have it undermined by the chief and a local politician who did not want Republicans there. btw, Scott Baio went to church with the fallen officer.

The ones making it political are the chief and the representative who was pissed that her political opponent would be there. Intolerant children.

This illustrates exactly what the Leftists are. They can run, but they can’t hide from what they are.
They simply can’t hide what they are. They think the Citizen Voters are Stupid.

I'm old enough to remember when Obama hijacked the memorial for the Dallas police officers murdered by a racist gunman.

Funny, because it seems that the only one making it a partisan political event was the police chief himself.

Those donors can still donate their thousands of dollars to the family. Absolutely nothing is stopping them.

They can still hold the fundraiser. Nothing is stopping them.

Since Scott Baio went to church with the fallen officer, he would be a great one to headline this event.

But the Police Chief wants nothing to do with what the event that clearly appears to be turning into a political rally.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Did he invite the Republican politicians and the Trump supporting talent?

Not sure why they called off the event just because the Police Chief and others decided they didn't want to be involved in what has turned into a Republican political event.

Seems like since the Republicans are so dedicated to good works, they would want to be sure and make this happen.

So I suppose gays should be able to force bakers to make their wedding cakes after all? I mean you are suggesting that people aren't allowed to choose who to associate with now, right? But of course hypocritical GOPers think that freedom only goes one way.

Yes, this is correct, it was vile and disgusting for the Right to turn this solemn occasion into an event focused on the Orange Fuhrer. But of course GOPers will never be able to understand that

So the police would start chanting "Nazi Slogans"?
