This is why healthcare reform is important. Many of these seniors ended up on the streets simply because they got sick.

Seniors are especially vulnerable because one health issue can wipe them out entirely; and they have little means to get back on their feet.

With all of the unbelievable amount of wealth in Silicon Valley and Hollywood alone everyone should be able to own a home, be well fed and educated.

Isn't CA the 5th largest economy in the world?

Why are CA'ians so tight and selfish with their money?

Disgusting.

Really now? Do you have a credible source for such a statement?

Cuz way too many liberal elitists...bow down to the almighty dollar it is their God... They are money worshippers. It is the same heartless liberal elitists who always fight against the building of homeless shelters here in Seattle. There is nothing worse than a stuck-up money worshiping liberal elitist. Seattle is chock full of them

It will increase Nationally by that amount very soon.

How many stories regarding Consumer Debt, No savings, and lack of retirement saving do we have to see to believe it? This issue will hit all states at some point regardless of what party is in power.

No party can fix American consumer's willingness to leverage themselves to the hilt for nice cars, Mc Mansions, and vacations. And I wonder how long our economy can survive on the consumers ability to obtain easy financing.

What a lie. They are on Medicare and the cost is very minimal.

These seniors probably need to relocate to less expensive states. Even the middle class is leaving CA.

CA will have the rich and the welfare people to mow their yards.

So you’re asking the elites of Silicon and Hollywood to chip in and subsidize housing and education for the disadvantaged? Even if they did it would be a drop in the bucket to solve the problems of housing. Would you and the other people at your income level do the same thing wherever you live despite already paying large chunks of your income to local taxes?

Lack of retirement income is about to become a big problem for this country. It'll get even worse once inflation picks up.
