That you and most other of your peers are the ants and big media, corporates, lobbyists of all types whether left or right, as well as their brainwashed and bought politicians are the grass hoppers. With the lobbyist seem the Kevin Spacey of grass hopper while the rest are other lobbyists, media, or politicians.
This applies everywhere, whether at work, to a city council, feds or state, or even to an HOA.
Ants may be vocal try to get their word out whether its through media, internet, news, or letters to politicians only to be given the cold shoulder. The media more often than not makes the bad situation worse due to bias. Worse yet they couldn't care less about reporting the scientific truth.
Though the biggest issue you have is that commoner ants don't dare to take the fight any farther than that as they are afraid to be squished. Thus afraid or unwilling to work together even if they have the means to and legal backing to. So they don't cooperate and just let the other groups bully them harder.

The most pressing is that the truth is kept secret or censored. One scene at the grasshopper colony reveals that the grasshoppers are making ants do work not really because they need food for the winter. But to keep "the ants in line" this really is eerlie similar to many legislation proposed these days not for real merits but to show the commoners who's boss.
I sometimes feel I would like to be Flick the ant but don't know where to start nor get my voices heard. I know that any attempt to post blogs or anything online is as futile as trying to attended public council meetings, actually using 3 minutes at the microphone, writing letters, or contacting media sources directly, these days it appears getting anything on the newspaper is as impossible as getting a sizable winning at a lottery or casino. In fact I noticed that government open forums they often have technical difficulties should speakers express what they don't like to hear. Sounds pretty suspicious if it occurs every time when someone speaks the truth about the drawbacks a proposal makes and happening at different cities repeatedly. Obviously, these days many people have given up on posting online whether its City Data, on a news site, or somewhere else as they know that its going to no where no matter how much evidence they have to back their claims. The ones left at the forums are often the determined focus who would fight or troll tooth to nail for anyone who dares to disagree with a proposal or legislation.
I be curious these days how to let my inner "Flick" out?

Its a methophor don't you get it? As it appears most people act like their "ants" anyways giving in to the "hoppers" demands even though they know its wrong according to their basic rights under the constitution.

Have you ever felt like the ants in the Bugs life when big corporation/government lobbyists are the grasshoppers? (legal, brainwash)

No. Never.

I did enjoy watching the movie (multiple times) when my son was a little boy, however.

Great post! If you ever get a chance watch Renaissance 2 by Damon Vrabel on YouTube. It’s a unbiased view of how the world is really run. It starts with a history of money and how this all ties into the fact that as George Carlin says best “we have owners.” It’s rather long..almost like a college lecture but it’s fascinating.

Probably the most important vid I’ve ever watched.

I don't know about constitutions as I never signed anything but there's a logical & moral objection to the whims of the hoppers yet most of the ants happily comply anyway.
