For once, I agree with this kid who echos my opinion so well publicly.
I am far from being a socialist, and am a strong believer that everybody should be rewarded well for their physical effort and intellectual contributions. BUTTTTTTTTTT, nobody should be rewarded more than 10x the avarage payline no matter what tools/contributions/sucking business models they invent to leverage their capability to monopolize on resources and wealth.
The competition between a sucker like Bezos with his e-Com platform and an average Joe among us is comparable to a battle between someone with a nuclear weapon and a stick...
in civilized societies, we should not endorse or tolerate such unfair competitions for societal wealth to achieve a better and fairer environment for those who are willing and able to contribute.
People coming up with impactful inventions should be honored and recognized in other ways that will not create astronomical barriers and inequality.
what are your thoughts??
Mark Zuckerberg on billionaires: 'No one deserves to have that much money'
New York (CNN Business)Mark Zuckerberg, the fifth richest person in the world with many billions of dollars to his name, said he "understands" where Bernie Sanders is coming from when the Democratic presidential candidate says billionaires shouldn't exist.
"I don't know if I have an exact threshold on what amount of money someone should have, but on some level no one deserves to have that much money," the Facebook (FB) CEO said during a town hall event at the company's headquarters on Thursday in response to an employee question about Sanders' comments.
Zuckerberg currently has a net worth of nearly $70 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He has previously pledged to give away 99% of his Facebook shares.
I mostly agree, but particularly that it's Zuckerberg.
Let's keep this in mind:
Zuckerberg raked in unimaginably big bucks basically for something he started for fun when still a kid. He didn't "make" anything in the traditional sense. He basically just created a site that would act as a middleman. Then, with all that influence in wealth, he used the site in despicable ways:
-manipulating his users as guinea pigs
-collecting and selling their information in ways that no one of them imagined
-irresponsibly allowed users to be misled by political ads
So we might not mind so much if he get rich because he figured out how to abolish poverty or bring about world peace, but for his dubious contributions, his wealth rankles.
But this doesn't appear to be a NYC subject, you know.
Since when have you become a nosy volunteer mod policing nyc forum topics? This is a very healthy enlightening topic that should be fully discussed among fellow NY residents.

Meh ......count me out .... nothing I care to rant about
Nyc is full of people who work 2 or more jobs or constantly 60+ hours per week yet still live check to check with little room for setbacks to be thrown out to the streets...
I am against freebies for able bodied residents, but we all should work together to better the living of those hard workers no matter which job they do.
There’s a political forum on CD where you can post things like this I believe. I know the mods here usually enforce threads being nyc related, just heads up ..

You certainly aren't far from being a socialist. Bernie would be proud.

The old "maximum wage" argument again. Millionaire Bernie and billionaire Zuckerberg arguing about how much money other people should be "allowed" to have.
I love that people can get "filthy rich" in America, as long as it isnt through corruption, extortion or politics, but instead offering a product/service people need, or simply want.
Land of opportunity.
Bernie and Zuckerberg are free to give away every cent they have, either directly to people/orgs, or to the government. They will never do it, as they are mostly concerned about other peoples money like most leftists. Eff 'em both.
