You're right, nothing works in my state.

We have the No. 1 economic output in America.
We have the No. 5 economic output in the world.
We are No. 1 in America in manufacturing.

Yup, nothing works.

California's legal weed profits going up in smoke

Legal marijuana in California as a business was supposed to be a no-brainer. How could it not be profitable in a liberal state pushing 40 million residents where some of the best weed in the world has been grown for decades? But nearly three years after Proposition 64, the law legalizing the adult use of the drug, was passed, California cannabis producers are not seeing the windfalls predicted. They tell Sharyn Alfonsi that regulations and a robust black market are cutting into legal pot profits.
That wont happen until its legal NATIONWIDE.

Another problem is the pricing, anyone idiot knows that drugs bought on the street/black market are expensive ONLY because of the risk involved, strictly as a product, marijuana should be VERY cheap, its easy to grow just about anywhere and it produces alot of flowering buds, why they tried to keep the price so high on legal weed is the question.

It's a no-brainer that the authorities in California let this happen by not shutting down the illegal stores:

https://www.cannabisground.com/illegal-cannabis-stores/

"Illegal cannabis stores. While 2835 dispensaries operate without a license, only 873 have a sales license in California"

The state wants more in taxes, shut down the stores that aren't paying charging them. It's that simple.

And for T-310: Not all strains of cannabis are high in THC, the ingredient that gets you high. There are plenty of strains that are very low THC that help people with pain relief, stress, sleep, focus, etc. There are more reasons to use cannabis than just to get stoned. Perhaps some research on your part might be a good start.

People are content believing the non-sense that their government force feeds them. What they don't realize is that the truth is secondary to the politicians retaining their power and their deeply lined pockets.

Many drug addicts are bad hombres. If they can get it illegal or cheaper from their criminal friends then they will. They can also do one-stop shopping for other illegal drugs.

I was always under the impression that marijuana prices would plummet at some point and the Black market or "Home Grown" market would take off again.

Marijuana in California can grow on the side of the road with no attention payed to it, its about as easy a plant to grow as anything. Keep the bugs off, water it, make sure the sun hits it and bam you got weed. Unless your going for world record potency there is nothing else required.

Add in all the taxes, regulatory red tape, and plain greed, you end up with a market that cannot compete with the black market and home grown.

We have this problem in Florida with the Medical Marijuana market. It is so expensive to get medical marijuana at quantities that most need, many just get their medical card and continue buying black market. At least they can claim they do have a card and just keep your black market stuff in official containers as flower is legal.

I believe the Marijuana market will look more like the restaurant market in a few years. You will have the McDonalds churning out basic bud for bottom dollar at high volume. All the way up to the "Take you to the moon" exotic strains only available at the expensive or "nice" marijuana dispensaries.

Pretty much the same as almost every single consumer product on the planet, which is the way it should be. Capitalism is great that way, if there is demand for a product, someone will make it available.

That can’t be right. I have a list on my desk right now with license applications and those granted. There are over 3000 licenses that have been approved by the state.
