How about Durham? He's one of the most ethical District Attorneys approved by both parties whose prosecuted a lot of Corruption and Mafia types?

Even the Dems have approved of Durham. He's out of Connecticut and above reproach.

As Dems love to say.. If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide.

I have respect for Durham just not for his assignment, he was already investigating this is a step up to a more formal investigation. It would be interesting to know what spurred this on.

Totally agree. Which is EXACTLY the reason Barr felt obligated to look into the origins of the Trump Russia investigation and why an FBI counter intelligence into "Russian interference in the 2016 election" focused solely on the Trump campaign (which concluded that no Trump/Russia conspiracy existed btw) while completely failing to at any point also look into evidence of collusion between Hillary's campaign with foreign actors including Ukrainian and Russia disinformation fed to an ex British spy (Steele) as part of his dossier that was used to get a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

The bottom line is that the FBI to this day still has failed to offer an explanation as to what predicated their opening of an investigation focused on the Trump campaign. That's why the FBI opened a counter intelligence investigative into Russian interference into the 2016 election as opposed to a criminal inquiry or criminal investigation specifically into and against the Trump campaign. They didn't have "facts" or probable cause to start a formal investigation against the Trump campaign itself so they cleverly opened a counter intelligence investigation against "Russian interference to help Trump in the 2016 election".

The problem for the FBI there is that not only didn't they look at attempts by Russia to influence both parties but they gave Hillary's campaign a defensive briefing warning them of the Russian threat as soon as they learned it while intentionally failing to give the Trump campaign the same defensive briefing in a timely manner before any damage could be done. That makes absolutely ZERO sense for the FBI to do but that's what happened. A normal functioning FBI would have given both sides a defensive briefing as soon as they suspected potential Russian infiltration so both campaigns could work with the FBI to root out any Russian criminal mischief in either campaign.

At the absolute best, this failure by the FBI is gross incompetence on their part. At worst, if evidence is uncovered that the FBI intentionally withheld a timely defensive briefing presumably hoping that Trump campaign officials would take the bait on accepting any help or assistance from Russians to ensnare the campaign in criminal wrongdoing then there are likely numerous criminal statutes that FBI officials involved may have violated. Both are bad but the latter would be BY FAR the biggest political scandal in this country's history.

Given the fact that there is strong, compelling, and growing evidence of all the aforementioned mentioned and at the very least evidence of a lot of things about the origins of the Russia investigation not adding up, it's insane that Democrats and Trump haters think that Barr as the Attorney General of the U.S. has no right to look into it. Even more laughable and hypocritical to suggest it's only "political" given what has happened the last few years.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, if the DoJ manages to press criminal charges against someone as a result of this investigation, the Mueller Report - along with all of its concomitant convictions, recovered money, and factual findings disappears set forth therein - simply disappears into a cloud of dust. I'm not sure if it also cancels the impeachment inquiry. Can someone clarify?

This is an excellent post.

I would be interested to know if the Justice Department empanels a grand jury for this, or otherwise if this is just a lot of noise intended to distract.

If there is something to see I want serious action from the investigators, not play acting.

As evidenced by the comments here Dem supporters truly do believe the Democrats and their henchmen are above the law.

Jeez...REALLY?!!!! You do realize that Barr is looking into the very thing in your bolded comment above that former Obama administration officials are allegedly guilty of don't you? There have been allegations of the weaponization of the intelligence community and incredibly large abuses of power by those powerful agencies against Trump for over two years now.

The mainstream media, of course, doesn't even bother to acknowledge these concerns because they've long since sold out to the Deep State (the DNC and establishment RINO "Republicans"). This is why Trump haters are "shocked" by this latest revelation about the inquiry turning into a full blown criminal investigation. You gullible saps have been fed ever changing bull#### narratives about non existant criminal activity about this
president 24/7 every day for 3 years without even a speck of consideration for the other side of the argument.

Those of us who aren't infected with TDS and looked at things rationally and objectively and dug and did our homework about what has been going on behind the scenes have been trying to tell you about the FBI/DOJ/CIA/NSA/State Dept malfeasance of high level Obama administration officials for two years now and you guys laughed it off as a conspiracy so don't act like this is some sort of desperate last ditch effort by a Trump administration official to throw a wrench into the impeachment hysteria. This has been building for at least two years now and was inevitable and was going to come out one way or the other.

Anti-Trumpers best chance to keep this under wraps ironically is to either give up on impeachment altogether or impeach in the House just before the election so there's no time for an actual trial in the Senate. The Democrats know an actual trial in the Senate will backfire spectacular if they go that route. Discovery and open public cross examination of witnesses uncovering EVERYTHING will look extremely bad for Democrats and the Deep State which is why Democrats would like to be able to impeach Trump but are terrified of what else may come out in open testimony in a Senate trial. The evidence Barr and Durham are gathering will by necessity be a part of any public Senate trial because it goes to heart of the president's impeachment defense.

Trump haters including Democrats, Never Trumpers, and Trump haters in the Deep State have to hope they win back the White House in November 2020 and that they can stall, obstruct, and run out the clock on Barr and Durham before they have time to go through the process of gathering the evidence and having the trials for the Deep State soft coup conspirators start. That way Dems can shut down any criminal investigations or trials and award the swampy, seditious Deep Staters that helped them damage their political enemy enough to have him lose his bid to get re-elected. That's why you can expect Democrats to try drag put these closed door non-impeachment "impeachment inquiry" until just before the election when they will vote to impeach the president just before election day allowing no time for a Senate trial before the country votes for the next president. You can see the devious strategy from a mile away.

In fact, the only report that has found criminal behavior is the Mueller report, and Barr redacted much of it.
My gosh you guys are in for a few big surprises.

Let's start with sending Comey to prison for his many crimes.

A slam dunk is when he lied to Congress about not knowing their was surveillance on the Trump Campaign.

Then we can add on for his other dastardly deeds that are about to be exposed.
