How far removed from reality are these people?

According to this person, Bernie's plan will save us all money and ultimately provide a huge tax cut for all Americans.

Person asked me where the Government gets revenue from, I said "taxpayers" and they told me I was wrong.

Can we just send all of these people over to Europe?

Girl told me I don't understand basic math...

Soooo, I had to unload these pesky statistics....45% of Americans pay no income tax, and nearly half of babies born are Medicaid.

It would most likely bring costs down overall and could lead to a decrease cost for most people, but it would require tax hikes, of course. Those taxes would replace current private insurance premiums. If the person you debated thinks it would not lead to a tax increase, it's probably likely he doesn't understand what he is arguing.

Correct. But it is my opinion that most insurance premiums are way less than how much taxes would rise. God knows mine is.

You'll save tons of money, thats for sure.

But if you're satisfied with paying far more than any other country for health care and still risk being denied care because your insurer needs to make a bigger profit on you, then go ahead and support the current system.

Are you including the employer part of your premium, and your deductibles and co-pays?

What's the TOTAL cost of your health insurance, and how well covered are you?

Here is what I don't get. Some people act like employers subsidizing health insurance is some sort of bad thing?

I'm very well covered, there is no cap and my total out of pocket is I think 5k.

I had an emergency appendectomy that cost $90k and I only paid 2 grand.

I went to the doctor the other day and paid $12.

RXs are $10 at the most.

Your employer doesnt subsidize anything. Its taken from your salary. An employer M4A payroll tax work the same way.

And the employer has great power over you now since they control whether you get health care or not. Which makes workers obedient and meek. Workers stay in jobs they dont like, or with abusive bosses and as workers get older and age discrimination in the labor market sets in, people often cant get health care anymore at a critical time in their life (50s and 60s). Its brutal and inhumane.

appendectomy for $90k is a scam.
