While I wouldn't call the display "disgusting" (a gross overreaction if you ask me), this was a poor decision for an establishment that deems itself to be a family friendly eatery and play zone.
If McDonald's wants to promote inclusivity. If McDonald's removes Halloween, they should also remove holiday jeering or any Christmas decoration as well.
Sjw outrage is no joke. Even during the satanic panic of the 1980s. Parents, Christians and alike were heavily alarmed about Halloween costumes and ornamentation which they deemed as offensive.
Yeah, but people told them to go f themselves and didn’t change anything. As they should do now.
Of course I played hangman. But then I was and am a white Southerner. None of my ancestors ever hung from a tree. We don't get to judge for others what should or should not offend them. We can only judge for ourselves. We should not belittle them with "wetting their pants" comments or talking bout "man buns" they may or may not wear. When folks do, it says more about them than those they are talking about.
Maybe folks feel more free to share their opinions now on what offends them. Maybe social media spreads it. Maybe we just notice it more. Maybe they don't fear backlash as much now as they may have then. I'm not saying we have to share their sensitivities, but resorting to nameacalling is actually the wrong thing to do. I'd rather live in an age where folks feel free to tell me how they feel than one where they are afraid of folks like some where who put them down for what they feel

Well. I went to high school on the Texas Gulf Coast, and I don't recall anyone hanging people from trees as Halloween decorations like they do now, and it's ghoulish and disgusting, IMHO. Not even from a racist perspective - from a human perspective.
I can't stand that. The Halloween decorations I grew up with were black cats, and witches, and caldrons, and ghosts, and pumpkins.
None of the disgusting horrors we see how, and have become completely desensitized to.
A few years ago a guy hung himself from a tree in his front yard in October and it was days before anyone driving by noticed it was real, not a decoration.
Yuck.
