A judge sentenced him to a 180 day suspended jail sentence, two years of probation, with special conditions requiring him to serve 48 hours shock incarceration in the county jail, receive firearms training, and participate in a victim-offender dialog, a restorative justice measure, and any community service established through the restorative justice proceeding.
Just picturing what State-mandated "firearms training" looks like.

They teach you how to shoot brown babies between the eyes in Iraq, assassinate a woman playing video games with her nephew in her own home, blowing away a dog because you "feared for your life"?

Says the guy who considers State agents as "good guys".

Laughable to say the least.

Whoa!

Don't shoot the messenger (pun intended), Dave.

Does the State not do these things carte blanche?

Moral and logical "firearms training" would always include only using your weapons in self-defense or in defense of other innocents.

The State doesn't follow that principle...at all. Just pointing out the irony out that this man, who broke no natural laws, will now receive training from an apparatus which violates natural laws like it's a bodily function.

I just wonder why the guy rolled over on this. He screws up gun rights for the rest of us, causes Walmart to have a knee jerk reaction and stop selling ammo. Then he plea bargains a slam dunk gun rights case.

I'm frankly surprised that Bloomberg's anti gun terrorists haven't started doing this all over in false flag operations to damage lawfully armed citizens rights. Mark my words they will figure this out and repeat it all over the place.

Missouri allows open carry without a permit, so long as the firearm is not displayed in an angry or threatening manner.[20] Some localities prohibit open carry; however, concealed carry license holders are exempted from this restriction.[21]

Missouri does not prohibit the open carry of any specific weapon, nor do most of the restrictions in RSMo 571.030 apply to the open carry of a firearm or other weapon. It is not a crime under Missouri law to openly carry a weapon into any place where concealed carry is prohibited, except for a church, school bus, school, or onto the grounds of a school function. According to RSMo Section 571.030, there is no age limit to openly carry a handgun, long gun or any deadly weapon allows open carry without a permit, so long as the firearm is not displayed in an angry or threatening manner.[20] Some localities prohibit open carry; however, concealed carry license holders are exempted from this restriction.[21]

The above is from the MO statutes, per Wikipedia. As I remember some places were allowed to prohibit weapons from their premises. We had a decal at our entrance that prohibited concealed weapons. Either the guy was found to have made threatening gestures, or that locality had an ordinance against open carry.

Previous poster is right that S-W MO is extremely conservative. He must have done something to scare people and LE. Really, what he did was dumb, IMO.

The "No weapons" sign also has to be a specific size and contain a specific size letters to be legal. Walmart would have needed a legal "no weapons" sign to prevent him from carrying. If he would get a good attorney, he could sue Walmart and win. The man who stopped him should have been arrested if they had followed the law. I live in Missouri.

Springfield does not have a law prohibiting open carry, so he did NOT need a CCW to carry. A legal sign on a business must be 11" x 14" with one inch letters.

Well, he sure scared some people.

You know, the more people have guns, the more shootings we seem to have.

He is an ass looking for trouble. Not responsible enough to carry firearms.
