Yes. The Ukraine was the bread basket of the old Soviet Union. It was also the most important republic in the USSR, outside of Russia itself. At present it serves as a buffer against Russian expansionism in the west. It is strongly in NATO's interest, and that of the US, to maintain that status. DT tried to compromise that national interest for personal political gain. Ergo, the impeachment hearings.
Is it what CNN told you?
Did you by any chance ask CNN where was Russia "expanding in the West" exactly, before the coup d'etat in Kiev, concocted with the help of American gov ( Obama administration I believe ) that replaced one oligarch as the head of a state with another one, not less corrupt but more convenient for the aforementioned American government?
Or CNN doesn't have a habit of reporting such inconveniences?
If you find an example of another president leveraging strategic aid to try to force a foreign country to dig up dirt on a political rival, I'll be the first to condemn it.
Have a link?

What I think I hate the most about Trump lovers is that most of them have no regard for things like "rule of law" or the Constitution. All that matters to them is prevailing at any cost. They don't seem to understand that part of being an American is upholding a set a rules or ideals. Many of them would sell their own grandmother for a 1% increase in the stock market.

Biden bragged about it on video. What more evidence do you need?
