Give it a rest I know you like to think that all democrats are geniuses but you are wrong. There are plenty of ignorant democrats around. Having lived in a very blue state, I came across many of them.

I know --- I've met many who have no idea that Puerto Rico is part of the US. Although, over time I figured people would become better educated on that issue.

Back in the days when store clerks used to have lists of bad cc numbers and had to look up everybody's card, I had a store clerk freak out when I gave him a cc that was from a PR bank. He didn't even bother to look at his list, he just about ran to a manager.

I went to the infirmary in college once and had a test done. The doctor's nurse asked for my address since the results would come in during school break. When she saw the address was in PR, she asked the doctor if it could be mailed there. He told her that PR was part of the US.

I could go on and on about the ignorance on this issue. It's a shame that after all this time, such ignorance still abounds.

All that said, there is no excuse for believing that only republicans are ignorant regarding this issue. As you've shown, there are plenty of ignorant democrats, too.

Would they have done the same for a visitor from another country like China or Germany? Why do you need immigration papers for this at all.

"CVS rejects."

No, a clerk who happens to work at CVS and didn't know better rejected the ID because they were too dumb to realize Puerto Rico was a US territory.

In fact, CVS itself has no policy against Puerto Rican IDs.

Sounds like a triggered low info clerk who thought they were standing up against a foreign threat by refusing this person medicine.

At one time, don't know about now, Walmart cashiers were required to enter a birth date to sell alcohol. Most just entered a generic one so as not to make older customers mad. They were actually supposed to get the date off an ID.

They as in CVS the corporation or a dumb employee making a tad over minimum wage?

I had a Walmart employee not accept my passport card as a valid ID when I went to buy beer.. Which is another reason I boycott Walmart. It was hot as hell that day, I just wanted some good beer to wash down a burger. LOL
dumb employees make stupid decisions every single day.

Besides we have only one side of the story here.

Exactly. But given how some people talk about those living in Puerto Rico it is understandable how some simple minded person can assume they aren't American citizens. I bet she was taught in elementary school and forgot.

We've had many people refuse passport as ID. In Las Vegas at the casinos they won't take a passport as an ID -- strange?

I got a better one for you.

Back in the late 1990's I came back from Mexico with my US naturalization certificate.

The Immigration Officer didn't want to accept it. I pointed out to him that I was an acceptable LEGAL document for entry into the US from Mexico. His comment was "Everybody has one of those". My comment was "that is not my problem.

I finally showed him a photo-copy of my "official" US government passport (the passport the US government employees use when traveling on official business overseas). The agency kept those and I couldn't use it for personal travel.

Those of us that are NOT native born Americans suffer all sorts of slights. We get over it and take with with a sense of humor.
