Actually, Congress - or at least most of its members - are quite focused just now. Impeachments tend to do that, as you may or may not recall. Corruption at the highest level of our government takes precedence of just about everything else, and rightfully so.

As for that massive stack of bills on McConnell's desk, the gun control bill is the most egregiously neglected, but there are many, many others, dealing with issues of national concern, which he has stashed away. Now, if your argument is that the gun control bill is in conflict with the Second Amendment, surely you are aware that the Senate would have an opportunity to change whatever it finds unworkable, or otherwise objectional about any bill prior to voting. But they have to receive the bills first, and that's not happening now, due solely to Moscow Mitch.

Of course, you could do a little more homework and just search for "bills on McConnell's desk" and find multiple articles about the Congressional roadblock McConnell is deliberately causing and the specific bills which continue to languish, month after month, on his desk.

All recent presidents have stretched the bounds of the presidency.

Trump is different but not for what you are probably thinking.

The things Trump has been attempting to get away with in 2019 can't be explained away as some murky and nebulous boundary of presidential power. People around Trump, Trump's own executive branch people, knew it was wrong at the time it was happening and said so. Bolton is a good example of that.

Trump is a criminal, worse than Nixon. His advisors have ben trying to explain to him why he can't do something the way he wants to since the earliest days of his office, he got rid of the wiser councilors and replaced them with yes men. This is a guy who didn't even want to learn the limits of his own constitutional authority and obey them, he wanted to exceed them.

Then he decides to do something criminal, something he should know is criminal, and no one is there to save him from himself. Trump is a train wreck.

Glad to see this. Wonder if Trump also will have to auction off that (extremely flattering) portrait of himself paid for with monies meant for charity??

I just don’t understand the loyalty to the liar in Chief. He’s not loyal to anyone. He only cares about himself.

Good post. Can't wait for next week's public hearings to begin, and more information to emerge. Fasten your seatbelts, folks, the ride is getting wilder!

DemocRATS, IMHO, are vermin, one and all either by their actions or their inactions, i.e. complacency.
Do you know what a coup is?

And you probably think John Bolton is a liberal.

Dismissed.
You are being disingenuous.

You know full well the House has been working hard on legislation and Moscow Mitch bottled it all up. The blame is on McConnell and his Republicans.

Your dreams don't amount to spit. None of them will come to pass. When will you get it? There is nothing for them to base an impeachment on. Trump did his job, rooting out corruption. QPQJoe dragged is coke-head son around on AF2, making all sorts of connections that were worth $$$ only because of his Name, and nothing more, and you don't bat an eye. Change the names to Trump, and your head would explode. Do you have any idea how pathetic and disgusting the D-RATS, and their sympathizers, area? A shred? A tendril? Obviously you don't.
