So where do you believe you are, politically speaking relative to US politics, on a scale from 1-10? 1 would be as far left as you could be... and 10 would be as far right as you could be. Whole numbers in the poll but if you must be .5, you'll have to add that in a post.

I want to benchmark politicians, but that would be subjective on my part so I'll avoid that. You can use a politician as a personal benchmark if you choose in a post.

My political equivalent personality would probably be Governor Ron DeSantis in Florida. I'm a conservative with a strong environmental protection lean (outdoors-man).

Libertarian with a streak of conservatism.

Poll doesn’t leave an option for libertarian.

Liberal to progressive liberal but not all the way progressive liberal because some of their ideas, while well intentioned, are not realistic.

I punched right leaning. I actually support some of the Left's agenda but I don't trust them enough to manage it.

Me too. Poll was too simplistic. On certian topics, some of my real straight ticket right side friends give me sideye like I'm a commie. One of those is I'm fairly pro choice (with time frame limits) like many libertarians are. Of course some on the left as of late has jacked it up to consider full term post birth as a viable time for a "conversation between a woman and her doctor" for termination.

I’m for the most part a Rand Paul Republican, also know as a Libertarian. I don’t give a crap what consenting adults do as long as it only involves/impacts other consenting adults. However, I think that extends to everyone, including religious people, I think at some point a fetus deserves baby status, I think the common good should prevail when there are situations when two or more persons’ rights conflict, and I am very fiscally conservative.

And this poll tells us? What? Like nothing. We'd have to know
Age (CD is older)
Gender (CD is male....leaning far)
Politics they were raised with
Location

and much more. This is why they use actual science in polling.

So, for example, you would be against the CDC and various government shutting down the vape shops and using the power of Big Government for public health?

Libertarians I know have always taken a fantasy situation like that (for example, restaurant licenses) and said that if the place poisoned people then no one would go there. That was the Libertarian view for decades.

Has it changed now to reflect that they like government when they can pick and choose AFTER each situation? Or would you and Rand want to abolish the CDC and state governments that would dare shut down 100's of vape shops?

I think that's a good measure....for whether one is Libertarian in the sense that it's been talked about for decades...although Rand now seems to think it means Government doesn't allow for the whistleblower LAWS and such.
