This eminent domain excuse is a farce as this wall serves no public purpose other than as a political ploy for Trump’s brain dead supporters.

Since it serves no public purpose and is politically motivated this taking of property is not only socialistic it is communistic.

Trumpers hats are red for a reason.
It's for our national security that benefits all of us! Get over your hatred and TDS already, will you? The good walls have already proven to be very effective. Why do you continue to remain in denial of the facts? Can you post something just once that doesn't include attacking Trump and his supporters?

What a comment. So your argument to me is: don’t talk about Trump in a thread that is about Trump and his seizure of private property!

The wall is a farce. It will do nothing to stem the flow of desperate Central American immigrants to this country. Walls fail. The world is full of walls that are tourist attractions now.

If I thought it would be beneficial I would be in favor of it, but it does nothing. This especially applies to a wall that will be as long as this wall.

It is a boondoggle. As I said previously, this taking is purely political. Something more suitable in Putin’s Russia then in the US.

I thought the GOP wasn’t a fan of eminent domain?

Bet they'll be begging for a wall in no time.
So I see it's not you land they're after ...

Yeah, sure.. take someone else's property. THAT's okay. Touch mine and I'll bring out guns (not me).

It's all well and fine as long as you agree, and it's terrorism/dictatorship if you don't.
Amazing how that works.

Given the area this will be built there is going to be a lot landowners happy to accept the check, undoubtedly they will be the majority.

Generally speaking a lot of landowners are never going to be happy about their land being taken for large infrastructure projects like power lines, gas lines, highways, border walls etc. There is no way around if you want to build large public projects like that especially in the case of a border wall where the land in question is predetermined.

Yah think? How would you feel if someone came out and carved 10 ft out from your property line... for something you thought was ineffective?

How much of your property would you be willing to give up to an issue you disagree with? (please reference the amount of property you are starting with).

Honestly, I don't expect much honesty. My answer? None. To anything I agree or disagree with. I bought it, it is mine.

I've seen properties that had a decent back yard one day, and the next their narrow backyard was abutting a busy road. Their quality of life definitely deteriorated. As your backyard becomes someplace no one wants to spend time... are you happy to give that up so you can have a towering fence on your property line?

Let's be honest here.

Do we work hard to buy things to make political statements? I know I don't.

Because it's not true?

First, it's not a "wall". It's a fence. And apparently it is a fence that can be breeched by using power tools.
