One bad choice can ruin a life, reputation, or career. Just one. some of us were just damn lucky to never pay the price for our bad choices. these people weren't.
They weren't only drunk, one of them apparently flipped the bird to the men. There was a physical altercation which ended in two of them being shot.

This was spectacularly poor judgment from people who were old enough, and presumable had seen enough of world if only from the bench, to know better.

Who gets into a street fight with local tough guys at 3 am?

Should people with such poor judgment be judging others?

Wonder if the guys in the car cat called the lone female judge, who flipped them the bird in response. They yelled something from the car as they passed.

The altercation apparently started sometime after 3 a.m., when one of the judges, Sabrina Bell, raised a middle finger at two men yelling from a passing SUV, and ended after one of those men shot two of the judges.

That's all true.

And the guy who pulled the gun made an even worse choice.

But still - these are people who every working day not only see the bad consequences of bad choices - but send people to jail for bad choices.

I stopped getting drunk by the time I was 25. And frankly, I expect judges to have judgement as least as good as mine.

They couldn't go to a waffle house because somebody there might recognize them from a past trial.
Why doesn't White Castle make real hamburgers? I hate eating a burger where the meat is as thick as a playing card.

I am SO disappointed that they weren't brawling among themselves.

I had this mental image of a long-standing disagreement on some arcane legal point that got out of hand at 2 AM.

- "Bring up the Illinois lower court's 1937 judgment in the case of Goofus v. Gallant one more time, and you'll be wearing a body cast under your robes!"
- "Oh yeah? You and which bailiffs?"

That's why you buy them 10 at a time. I've spent time after bar close at WC more than I would admit.
Nothing good happens there.
This was while I was in college though. Back in those days your choice was Perkins or WC.

I was hoping it something along these lines as well.

I thought government employees were "enlightened" and "more evolved". Perhaps even a higher species than the rest of us.

That's what over 99% of the populace (including this board) outright say or heavily imply upon pressing.
