Crisis? What crisis? A tent or a cardboard box can't be a home? Because that's the only plan democrats have for us all, if they ever manage to secure power over the rest of this great nation.

Just what we need.

Federally subsidized slums.

Like that hasn't already proved to be a failure.

How ignorant is the right-wing to think this proposal would only impact the cities?????

Affordable housing crisis impacts rural America, too

In many ways, the housing crisis in rural areas is just as serious as the one in the country’s largest cities.

“The housing system isn’t working on behalf of a lot of rural residents,†says David Lipsetz, CEO of the Housing Assistance Council (HAC), a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to helping build affordable rural housing.
Nearly a quarter of the nation’s most rural counties have seen a “sizable increase†in the percentage of residents spending more than half their income on housing, a scenario the federal government calls “severely cost-burdened.â€

You are right. A cardbord box or a torn up tarp has very little resale value. The favela at least makes it look like they were attempting to reach civilization status at one time.

It says a lot that people would rather be homeless in a liberal cities than be housed in a red state.
