Jill Wine-Banks: "If Trump’s conduct is not grounds for using impeachment, what would be? ... Using the office of president for personal benefit while harming the security of an ally fighting a shared hostile foreign power and our own national security at the same time seems the precise definition of the gravest circumstances.”

I think a lot of this is simply ignorance given his CEO my way or the highway leadership style surrounded by yes men afraid to tell him he might be acting improperly much less breaking laws. But at this point it is definitely willful ignorance.

Just another hater that's all. If Obama removing the missile shield from Europe wasn't grounds for impeachment due to harming the security of an ally than nothing Trump did is.

Hold Obama to the standards being used against Trump and Obama would be wearing prison garb.

Above me are conservatives with snippy one-liners because they can't defend Trump's guilt. Just the usual noises in here.

Trump attempted to extort Ukraine for his personal benefit.
He knew it was wrong, that's why he sent his personal lawyer to set it up, and did an end-run around the State Department.
Attempted bribery is a federal crime.
The president is not above the law.
Trump is obstructing justice by ordering Mulvaney, Pompeo, and Giuliani to not testify.
He is guilty of a crime. Congress has a duty to impeach.

70% of Americans say what Trump did with Ukraine is wrong. The American public supports impeachment and removal 50-44.

Sure Jill Wine-Banks, sure.

Great opinion there.

Unfortunately for folks like Jill, Trump will be president for another year, and there's a very, very strong chance he'll be in office through 2024. Gonna be tough for her.

Trump is closest thing this nation has ever had to a kleptocrat as president. A man who routinely abuses the presidential office for personal gain. If Trump is not impeached and booted from office, the precedent will be set that the presidential office and more specifically the executive brand is a for-profit operation. That it is a winner take all process. To the victor goes the spoils and while you are grabbing the spoils you are above the law to boot.

Can’t take any of these “conservatives” seriously who refuse to question their government just because it’s someone they voted for.
