Does she even realize what it would take to abolish the electoral college—-Two-thirds of both the House of Representatives and Senate would need to support the change, as well as 38 of the 50 states. The electoral college matters. The majority is sick of being told what to do by the minority. The GOP hasn't won the popular vote since 2004, and they lost it 3 elections before that. It's like the GOP gerrymandering in Congress--more votes for Dems, and yet more GOP representatives--odd how that happens.
And every year there is an election where the GOP candidate wins the EC but loses popular support by millions, it gets worse. We could very well have a civil war due to this imbalance. Seriously--when the representative of a small minority of the country is running it, the majority is getting screwed. Likely to end in civil war or revolution. Doesn't matter which Dem gets nominated and elected. The EC will go away at some point--it's lost its purpose.
Funny that she's campaigning in flyover country on promises (that she can't keep) that she'll be the last presidential candidate to ever have to slum it pretending to care about issues that matter to them.
Obviously there's no chance that enough states would vote to strip themselves of any ability to influence the executive branch of government, Warren is just hoping that the simpletons who are her base will support this kind of rhetoric.
She must think her voters are complete morons to believe this.
