Instead of taking away guns we should take away criminals who use guns. I believe in one strike and your out. Anyone who uses a gun in a criminal act should be sent to prison for the rest of their life with no possibility of parole. This would drastically reduce crime as there would be no repeat offenders.

That would not be in compliance with Liberal soft-on-crime policies.

I don't think we should make such a blanket sentence like that; however, sentences for gun crimes are not severe enough in most cases and the criminals are generally released way too soon.

But yes, criminals who commit crimes with a firearm need much more harsh sentences.

I believe whoever owns the weapon used in any crime should be charged with whatever crime was committed with that weapon. The weapon owner should be legally and financially responsible for all damages if any weapon they own is used in the commitment of any crime.

Many years ago I lived in a state that introduced a mandatory seven year sentence regardless of what crime was committed that was served on top of the sentence for the crime. It really cut weapon crimes.

If your car is stolen and then used in a crime, should you be charged?

It will never happen because it will target a certain demographic and will be considered racist.

So , if someone breaks into a home and steals a safe full of guns, then uses them in crimes , the homeowner is responsible ? Get the **** out of here with that stupidity.

I’m tired of my tax dollars going to support criminals living care-free lives in prison. If a person shoots someone, they should be shot at.

There really are no solutions. If guns are to be banned, people will find ways to get them.

The only "solutions" is to be aware of your surroundings. Know where exits are. Avoid areas of high crime. When you have guns inside your home or vehicle, use locks and keep the keys on you. Even though locks can be cut. Although these "solutions" are not 100% reliable.

The whole "ban guns" schtick is the same as drugs. Drugs are banned but people are still finding ways to obtain.

I agree.
This "solution" nonsense is just political stuff. There are far, far too many guns in America to ever hope of an effective gun control policy.
