The years of service that Diaz and other undocumented immigrant housekeepers, cooks, landscapers, greenskeepers, waiters, bellhops, farmhands and caddies devoted to the Trump Organisation have given them a remarkable vantage point into the unvarnished lives of the now-first family. They have seen poolside tantrums and holiday arguments. They’ve laughed with the in-laws and watched after the grandchildren.
Their recollections also show how Trump’s entrance into presidential politics – denouncing illegal immigrants as criminals and job-stealers – upended their lives and prompted some of them to publicly confront their former boss.
Over the past year, The Washington Post has spoken with 48 people who had worked illegally for the Trump Organisation at 11 of its properties in Florida, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. These workers spent years – and in some cases nearly two decades – performing the manual labour that keeps Trump’s resorts clean and their visitors fed.
This story is based on interviews with these workers, many of whom were fired or walked away from their jobs after media reports about their employment.

Exactly. No doubt there are thousands of people on city data that have never met the CEO of the company they work for so how could Trump be responsible for some illegal aliens that used fake paperwork to get a job? Do they really think that Trump is going to sit down and have an interview with a guy applying to cut the lawn?
America has a big problem with illegal immigration. The Democrats know this and were actually talking about how bad it is and Trump agreed but then he dared to try and do something about it and the Dems changed their tune.
When you think about it, what chance do the rest of us have when illegal aliens can infiltrate Trumps resorts with their fake paperwork and lies? Did they use stolen identities to do so? We should all be worried.

It's disgusting the lengths some go to defend illegal aliens and make excuses for them.
Look, you can make excuses for Trump that "he didn't know" or you can accept the fact that as CEO the buck stops with you. Trump could easily have said to all of his management to go through and clean out the illegals or be fired yourself. Did he do that? No. Did he do that well into his presidency? No. He didn't do it until after he was caught. Watch what Trump does, not what he says. He lies about anything and everything. There's no way he didn't know that he had illegals working for him. Unless you want to admit that he really is stupid?

This sort of thing happens in all big corporations.
If you read through the thread, it's very difficult to "clean out the illegals" when so many of them engage in ID theft. E-verify has been proved to not catch that.
The CEO of a large company doesn't know every single person working for the company---and you know it, too.
Do you realize that work gets contracted out and vetting those employees is up to the contractor? A contractor could say that s/he doesn't hire illegals. Even contractors can't always catch those who are in the country illegally.
The point is that when these illegals are caught, they are fired. It's not like Trump is telling people to keep letting known illegals work for the company
BTW, you, personally, could look to hire someone to do work on your property (construction, caregiving, etc.) and ask to see proof that s/he is here legally. They could hand you someone else's stolen SSN, you could run it through E-verify and get an okay. Then it turns out that you just hired an illegal who is an ID thief.
