Granted the solution to CFC's and HFC's was small compared to our current problem with fossil fuels but the world united for a solution.

The ozone depletion was not a scam, there was world wide agreement on the problem and the solution. The solution took quite some time, there was some resistance but people at least agreed on the science.

But there is NOT world wide agreement on climate change.
sun is going through a natural phase of solar minimums and the earths poles are shifting. nothing remains constant. where is that in the climate science being presented? have to scare people to tax them more - control them more. that is what it's all about.

....and China, India, and all the developing countries are increasing their CO2 emissions because global warming is not real

Actually, what we saw back then mirrors what we're seeing now: Moneyed interests fighting tooth and nail to muddy the issue, claim that there was no scientific consensus, and that we were going to cause a major economical upsets over a non-issue.
Humanity just lucked out that the producers of HFCs didn't have the political clout that the fossil fuel industry does. Signs are we aren't going to have that sort of happy outcome this time.
But hey, decades' worth of stockholder value isn't something to sneeze at, now is it?
