But, this is politics. The longer it drags out, the better for Donald Trump. Exposing the lies & deception the Democrats have perpetuated, drip by drip. Schiff & Nadler won't be able to deny witnesses, or call witnesses.
Biden, Hunter, Schiff & Caiaramella. Discovery should be awesome. Remember, this is about a phone call, nothing else. Irrelevant crap will not be admitted.
Democrats have never picked their battles wisely, since Trump became the Republican nominee.
It would be foolish for him to block this assuming he even has the power to do so, he is now in a difficult situation. Trump wants a complete trial with more witnesses, McConnell wants this over quickly.

There's plenty of evidence of what Trump did, the republicans defense was pretty lacking. They couldn't even answer the question regarding a president using his office for political gain with a foreign power. This is partisan alright, republicans have no interest in holding Trump accountable.

There's evidence of actions that are not inherently illegal or even wrong.... and then baseless spin to try and make the case that those actions were wrong., but they've given up on saying they are illegal.

Since you never proved that he used his office for political gain, why is there a need for a defense?

Also, it's funny that you call the bipartisan opposition to the partisan impeachment, "partisan".

You say it would be foolish, but you would never in a million years elaborate the consequences of doing so?
If he sits on it, what are the consequences?
If it brought to an immediate cloture vote, what are the consequences if it fails to get the votes?

Then... what are the consequences of this dragging out until November?

Question no one wants to answer truthfully.

Politically it is a win for Trump if it drags out.
If it is squashed, it is a win for the Nation.

No scenario, the Democrats come out of this.

This is all about a telephone call and all the Democrat witnesses, heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, got it all wrong, once the transcript was released.

Good luck getting that hearsay into the Senate.

Because he thinks it would a sham and doesn't want to dignify it. I'm not saying it is a good reason, just a reason.

So, Republicans think it would have been OK for Obama to ask China to announce an investigation into Mitt Romney just prior to the election?

LOL. You all would have chit straight up your back and McConnell would have already impeached.

Hypocrites.

It's especially delicious to see all those videos of such an EARNEST Lindsey Graham giving romantic speeches about how ignoring Congress is a violation of the law.

A 7 year investigation into Clinton by the likes of Dennis Hastert and they FINALLY found Monica when Whitewater didn't pan out.

Spare me any conservative tears.

How can they keep protecting the President by saying what Biden did was wrong and what the President did wasn't wrong?
