Politicians change parties for various reasons. Trump did it too. Its all about them votes.

Choosing your political livelihood over your own views is just sad. As I and others have said , he does not vote in line with Republicans, there are at least 20 Democrats to the right of him on votes. And clearly based on previous statements , he has ideological disagreements with Trump.

As for country itself, he hasnt stated his opinion on trumps actions, but I would guess he doesnt support them.
