If the Democrats play too many games McConnell could just start the trial anyway with or without the articles and might enjoy the delay. That way he could start the trials as soon as the democrat primaries begin and suck two of their leading candidates out of the race. But as far as my understanding goes, the Senate can start whenever it wants.
You may want to read up a little on that.

Nope, and neither is NOT withholding aid or even threatening to, for an investigation that NEVER took place, with the alleged aggrieved party having no idea that they had ever been threatened because they weren't.

But since impeachment is a purely political action, a crime isn't really required, now is it?

In fact it's the US Senate that gets to judge if the impeachment process itself was valid and constitutional. And that is why Swamp Mistress Nancy is afraid to send it to the Senate.
If you think Trump is wild and gets under their skin now, just wait until his third term.

This proves it's a sham, a real sideshow .They don't even follow any rules . It's just impeach with no crime at all and then they're sitting on it. How dumb is this.

Trump hasn't been committed of any crime. What part of that did you miss? The Democrats, via impeachment, have voted to ONLY accuse him of a crime.

It's the US Senate that first gets to determine if the Democrat process itself was Constitutional (it was not) and then if Trump is guilty.

Now you know why Pelosi is afraid it send it to the Senate.

There were articles of impeachment just as there are now, it wasn't as partisan as this vote but still very partisan particularly the judiciary committee.

McConnell can and should summon Chief Justice Roberts over to the Senate today, start the trial, and move for acquittal. This whole fiasco will be over, for now, and the Democrats in the House can continue with their endless smears, lies, and partisan investigations into nothing. Maybe they'll spare us a few weeks of nonsense over the Christmas holidays.

President Trump will continue to do the work of the American people.

Evidently lying under oath about your sex life is a serious crime, one reason why the house swung in the next election.
