During the December debate, the moderator asked Biden...
The moderator asked, "As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of blue-collar workers, in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?'"
Biden answered with no hesitation, "The answer is YES."
Biden was supposed to be the moderate Democratic candidate who supports blue collar workers. Trump will destroy Biden if he becomes the nominee by making an ad about this. At the end of the day, if you are afraid of losing your job, not being able to pay rent or your mortgage, etc you aren't going to vote for that person.
I agree, Joe lunchpale killed his personal brand with that comment. He went all in with hard left on that one, and left his base behind. No loyalty shown to his Blue Collar working class "Joe's". I'll bet he regrets that answer.
He was Toast long before that
Joe is transparent this Is fatal in politics unless you are the running mate of a very strong leader
Or unless you are both like mr trump
Fake News site deliberately only gave HALF of Biden's answer and purposely left out where he talked about NEW jobs coming from the Green Industry, and retraining employees for these new jobs.
Why did OP's article purposely leave off that part of Biden's answer?
I suppose you're right that many people, especially short-sighted ignorant ones, would have hysterics over that, even though he's clearly talking long-term. I mean, how many thousands of people lost their horse-and-carriage related jobs when cars started to take over?
But, sure, the survival of humanity on the planet should trump the survival of individual jobs which may become outdated. Please note that a shift in the economy will in itself create new jobs.

And can those "new green jobs" support a wage level anywhere close to that offered by the work from which American heavy industrial workers were displaced? And will those jobs provide a place to work and produce under less-intense supervision -- free from the whining and other superficial concerns of demanding, over-indulged and over-sheltered snowflakes?

People who choose to be willfully ignorant rather than make a quick google.

Yes, like a fifty year old oil field worker is going to be satisfied with that answer.
The fact is Democrats are telling those working in the energy sector to go to hell.
"Renewable energy jobs are booming across America, creating stable and high-wage employment for blue-collar workers in some of the country’s most fossil fuel-heavy states, just as the coal industry is poised for another downturn.
Economics are driving both sides of this equation: Building new renewable energy is cheaper than running existing coal plants and prices get cheaper every year. By 2025, almost every existing coal plant in the United States will cost more to operate than building replacement wind and solar within 35 miles of each plant." -- Forbes
