Honestly, given the state of political discourse and climate in the U.S., it's not really that hard to believe.
You have people choosing conservative or liberal places to live
I know people in general do not say such things, and it seems the poster in question has moved the goal posts by saying it was one person who said it, and it was over a year ago, and on another forum.
Do you know anyone who has re-located to a more politically suitable place, with politics being the only reason for the move? It would not make any sense doing so, because your new neighbors can be from either party no matter where you live. I live in a blue county in Florida, and yet most of my neighbors are conservative.
I find it curious that in a thread on the topic of a violent attack on Jewish worshippers, the openly Jewish poster is constantly having to defend herself against personal attacks, some implying she is lying. It’s quite a disgusting display.

Very good friends of mine moved from Seattle to Texas due to the extreme liberal views in the NW. just a terrible place to raise children among all that progressive hatred. Then Obama flooded Texas with liberal Arab and Hispanic voters and turned the great state purple. And Rick Perry relocated so many California businesses to Texas, he owns some of the change in politics too. My friends have since made aliya and now live in Jerusalem. Safest and happiest they’ve ever been.

We were talking about parents telling their kids to not play with children of Trump voters, and you said your own mother told you exactly that.
