While I never thought about the need for a firearm in places like houses of worship growing up, that is sadly a possibility today with insane evil scum looking to harm soft targets.
Whether it be many people in a church, school, shopping mall etc., curent kooks are looking for infamy by attacking such places.
Rather than bury my head in the sand, I look at guns as tools in the same manner as fire extinguishers, jumper cables, etc.
I hope to never need such things (even more so with a defensive weapon), but I'd rather be prepared to help my family/friends/self survive, rather than be a defenseless victim.

People keep asking how do we stop or at least minimize mass shootings. Well here is the answer yet they don't even want to allow that. They'd rather have innocent victims slaughtered than allow our Natural Right to defend ourselves with a firearm. How this makes sense to the mind of a Progressive is beyond explanation.
