Trump knew. This is why he's not really doing anything to go after employers. He's wasting time trying to find funding for a wall, when the solution to illegal immigration is employer sanctions.
Please as stated - Trump does not personally know each and everyone of his employees - that's what he has managers for. Yet Hillary did know when her campaign team hired an illegal dreamer.

Let's quit knocking Trump and making up fake stories and situations. It's been almost 4 yrs - people have to get over it.

Can you not realize that you're poking the sleeping bear - the more you provoke people with this absurdity - the more they'll make sure to go out and vote for him in 2020 - even if they don't like him - just to keep you riled up!

The DISGUSTING HYPOCRITE! Just like he belly-ached about "Chain Immigration", then here comes Melania's parents!

Melania Trump’s Parents Become U.S. Citizens, Using ‘Chain Migration’ Trump Hates

.

you have found excellent examples of the NYT willingness to make "news" articles opinion pieces, even if by nothing more than headline.

On the first, we really just need a comprehensive e-Verify thread. Time and again, those on the left decry business owners hiring illegals, and accuse Republicans of opposing e-Verify. Every time, posters on the right assert they favor e-Verify, though many acknowledge it needs to be less cumbersome but especially more accurate. Most importantly, recent government attempts to increase use of e_verify have been started by Republicans.

on the second, one can oppose something but still follow it under the current laws of the land. For example, some of those billionaires virtue signal their desire to pay much higher taxes, but they're all using the tax laws allowed and only paying the given rate. Or imagine you like driving fast, but decide the nationwide speed limit should go back to 55 mph. Are you magically going to start driving 55 mph and expect everyone else to, when the law is still 70 mph?

Melania's parents had been living in the US at least 5 years (required) before earning their citizenship. So, this well predates Trump running for POTUS. And it appears they were doing is following the given process for chain migration/family reunification.

Most importantly, both topics are far more detailed than you can get from a single news story. But they appreciate you accepting their short versions!

I thought we weren't allowed to REQUIRE folks to speak English??

How pathetic, and totally predictable, that you believe that.

I don't believe the government fines the hiring manager after they're found to bee using illegal labor, do they? They fine the business owner, and there may be criminal consequences for the owner under certain circumstances.

Now, the hiring manager is going to get fired the first time the business owner pays a fine, yes.

As captain of the ship, they need to be punished for what happens under their command.

A captain was relieved of duty when aircraft carrier elevators did not pass inspection.
There are 5000 people under him. He had no knowledge they were not functioning properly and had nothing to do with maintaining them but was let go anyhow.
by the way, are you talking about the USS Gerald Ford?

Yup.
Trump 2020 - it's the only way to keep the unreasonable and dishonest Democrats out of The White House. The thought of having a member of that Tribe of Obfuscation and Redirection in The Oval Office gives me the willies.

See, Trump is not going to do anything to curb illegal immigration. If they don't go after the industry that profits off of illegal immigration, nothing will change.

The illegals will not cross the border if there is no demand for them.

Also, we know where the business owners are, they are not going anywhere while the illegals can be hard to track down and punish.
I see, so someone who happens to leave their door unlocked is the guilty one but not the one who comes in and steals their stuff? These illegals know full well when they cross our border illegally that they are breaking the law. They know full well that accepting a job that they aren't lawfully entitled to is another infraction of our laws and so is presenting fake or stolen documents to work breaking the law. No one forces them over the border nor does anyone force them to work here either.

No, we don't know who the business owners are until one of them gets busted. I'm all for e-verify across the board to stop them from hiring illegals aliens though but the Democrats won't go for it unless there is an amnesty attached to it. It is just as hard to reign in the employers as it is to find the illegal aliens. At any rate, we need to go after both of them.
