While democrats support war in the middle east when a democrat president starts it with no clear objective beneficial to the U.S.A but declares it is a crime a republican starts it, and visa versa when a republican supports it when a republican president starts it and declares it a crime when a democratic president starts it, but in the end both parties commit troops to the middle east spending trillions, ending lives both of troops and those abroad....
China just goes in without dropping bombs or shooting and takes over by investing and buying into their interests without getting into 20 year wars with no end in sight....
But then again China doesn't pretend they are doing it for the benefit of democracy , it is about self interests period.
Iran, and Russia are China's proxies (The democrat party is also, and likely don't even realize it). Iran's proxies are keeping the US in particular, and the rest of the west engaged, spending money, lives and attention, that could be used against China, while they build their own strength.
In about 10 to 15 years nobody will be able to take China on. They will have taken the planet, without firing a shot.
People all around the world need to wake up to this, though it may already be to late.
The number of reads and responses to this thread tells the story of how woefully ignorant Americans are to this threat, and how successful the Chinese strategy is.

What is your point? and what is China doing wrong? Why is this a threat?
You did read in your own article that China is doing what the US has done in the past.

Wake up people.

There is nothing to be done about it. The US will have to accept the back seat just like the UK had to when the British Empire crumbled after WW2 and left America the top gun.

But the west is not a communist society (yet). We do not seek to isolate and enslave entire continents.
Can you say honestly that Russia is a friendly nation towards the US? How about Iran?. You are aware that they are all allied with each other. Right?
Is India our friend? How about Australia? Are you familiar with a map of the planet Earth?
China controls, directly, or by proxy, The Panama Canal, Many south Pacific Islands, Iran, The east coast of the continent of Africa, and has made inroads to the west side of Africa as well. With their Russian alliance the north Pacific is covered, as well as European seaways.
Australia, and India are already ISOLATED from their traditional allies, the US and UK (and Vice Versa). Japan and the Philippines are very nearly isolated by their proximity to future overwhelming air and missile coverage, and their commercial fishing fleets are already being forced off of the south China Sea by Chinese harrasment. Viet Nam and Indonesia have the same problem. China is demonstrating, quite openly, they will aggressively take what they want by force.
The only thing China lacks at the moment is naval power to sufficiently project power to protect the open sea lanes between that infrastructure they already have put in place. That is being taken care of now. They have their first two aircraft carriers, another much larger under construction, with a sister to that one probably being laid down this year. Then two more that rival the size and capability of the US super carriers coming later this decade. Meanwhile, they're churning out destroyers, frigates, and submarines at a pace no one else can match. If they are so harmless and benign, I wonder why? It isn't as though anyone is threatening to invade them, or force them into anything, so one can only assume all of these preparations are for offensive purposes.
Concerned yet? Everyone in the free world should be. Because we're only about ten years, maybe less from total global domination of a communist power, and they won't likely even have to fire a single shot.
For a bit clearer picture, here's a link to a story from Australian 60 Minutes, November 2019, detailing some of China's bribery and coercion of government officials throughout the south Pacific. With this information in mind, I would posit that it is likely that the labour party in the UK, and the Democrat party in the US are Chinese proxies as well.......

True, but we didn't force communism upon the UK.
China, as mentioned, demonstrates a more dictatorial methodology.
They laugh at Democrats because they are weak: as all the world secretly does.
They used to laugh at Republicans the same. Now they laugh out of bravado, as an equivalent to whistling in the dark.
There is a certain air in your post as if China was holding the cards. They aren't. They are suffering their own debt crisis, the middle income trap, a slowdown which indicates the end to the "Chinese miracle," new trade restrictions, and a population which might be in the beginning of rebellion. All of these things are related, as they have always demanded obedience in return for growth, and that model may be hitting the wall.
In the beginning of the 20th, they said that it would be the "German century." The century concluded with Japan claiming that it would manage the decline of the west. Of course, neither came true, and we are seeing China similarly jumping the shark in real time.
Just pop the debt bubble and watch China deflate. That will be the last you hear from them, because no one will care enough to translate and repeat anything they have to say. You won't even know they exist. But China is too useful still to the elites. They won't let that happen yet, if they can help it.
I think the problem with both the republicans and the democrats is they think they can somehow manage China from afar. They can't. In the end, China always seems to get what it wants. The only way to stop them, if that is one's desire and intent, is to remove the money from their economic system. Remember, they are the Soviet Union, but with money. The only thing that will change their trajectory is cutting off the money supply.
