Most of what remained of Iran’s frozen assets was not in US banks. In exchange, Iran agreed to knock off attempts to develop nukes. International groups inspected and determined Iran was in compliance. Trump’s SoS agreed.

Guess that was not good enough for the Saudis.
it was irans ballistic missle program also...…….you don't develop ballistic missles for any other purpose than to deliver nuclear warheads......

I doubt very much if it was any professional Iranian military or intelligence service.

And it is still equally treasonous to have discussed this with Israel before Congress as it was to have discussed this at Mar al Lago for insider trading purposes.
How can that be possible? According to the all-knowing, never-wrong Trump base, the only real anti-Semites are Jews and Liberals.

Only time will tell if they choose pride and honor over self preservation.
very good point.

2. Israel will defend itself, and strike back. Naturally.

I think it will be against US forces/citizens in Irag or another country in the middle east. They want us out of the middle east so they would retain a certain amount of justification by doing so.

Roger that.

I believe repyblicans were sold out and ready to pull the plug on trump in the senate, due to which trump may have had no choice but to order the hit to save his job.

Whenever I think of threats and saber rattling aimed at Israel, I always think...do you really want that particular group of people to know, for a fact, that they have nothing to lose by stepping their game up HARD?

Israel excels at following through with things once they have their minds made up. Not sure how wise blowing up Haifa or Tel Aviv really is, given that it puts Israel in that enviable "even the UN won't mind if we defend ourselves with vigor" position.

And it is funny that the US smacks Iran and their first thought is to smack Israel. Kinda reinforces the theory that in the Middle East, everyone other than Israel is looking for any excuse, no matter how superfluous, to smack Israel. Killing Jews seems to be the central tenet of Islam, given how every Islamic theocracy behaves.

But needless to say, if Iran droned one of our generals, we'd be bombing the hijabs off of their women. Their response has been very restrained. You can't just ice a top general like we did and expect no consequences. What we did was to tantamount to shooting their brother in the back and now demanding they play nice.
There have been responses going back on forth there often in secret and through proxies for decades.

Remember that huge drone strike on Saudi oil terminals not so long ago? Or people funding rebels in North Iran? Or funded IED attacks, car bombs etc. throughout Iraq?

(I'm acknowledged that we started it during the cold-war power struggle over the middle east by putting the shah in power.)

For those that have paid attention over the years, this is not even remotely the most provocative action by Iran or the US in the region by a long shot.

So here you are:

Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said not long ago that in 10 years there would be no more Israel.

Goes to show the inherent problems of Congress (and federal agencies) engaging in constant leaks to the media. They selectively leak to try to bolster a narrative, and now when something like this comes up they are aghast that they are not trusted to be brought into the loop.
