If I was in power i'd charge a $500 surcharge/tax per ticket on air travel. Use the proceeds for wind and solar installation. Nobody needs to be flying all over the world all the time. I'd also charge a $25,000 surcharge/tax any time a private jet is flown. If you can afford one of these jets you can afford the fee.
Also...an extra dollar a gallon gas tax. Nobody needs to be driving long distances to work. That's a choice you made... Progressives talk the talk when it comes to climate change but they never actively discourage consumption. In fact by throwing stimulus around they encourage it. Nobody needs anything beyond food and shelter in their lives.
If "climate change" was a real, long term threat, global elites wouldn't be falling all over themselves to buy beach front property, 'cause rising sea levels and super storms or some such.

I agree with you 100% I would also add additional taxes on any business, not just manufacturers. Businesses pollute whether it is packaging waste, food waste, byproduct waste and they need to be accountable.

I'm sorry but having this much wealth only encourages wasteful consumption which increases CO2 levels. The elites need their fortunes confiscated or at the very least need consumption restrictions placed on them. They can live in 2 bedroom apartments in the city like the rest of the masses. Maybe a small to midsized house in the suburbs. No 4+ bathroom mansions. No owning 4 houses either 3 of which are empty most of the year. They must use extra properties as section 8 properties to help out people in need.
