If Germans are so intelligent, why did they kill 25 million Soviets? Why did they kill 6 million Jews? Why did they start two Continental conflagrations in one century that killed tens of millions of people and led to the absolute destruction of their own country? Seems you are in the same boat, we are not discussing killings, we are discussing differentiating between events, times, etc. The Germans and Soviets, now Russians and other former USSR republics, know the difference, and they trade, travel, other things with each other. You made the claim because Belgium or whoever did something years ago, Congolese are too stupid to know the difference between that even and time, and a recent event and time which is vaccinating.

I think from DD's point of view (which is the standard black and white liberal view) it's always reasonable to suspect white people of evil racist intentions. Or at least it fun to do that, and thereby imagine oneself morally superior to the vast majority of whites. So he asserts that the Congolese are wise, not stupid, to suspect that European doctors want to kill them.
The Congolese should kick out all Europeans and refuse all aid and trade from Europe. That will show them.

It’s wise not to trust anyone you don’t know.
And it’s especially wise not to trust people that you DO know!
Some of the disturbing trends we see in America - fake news, conspiracy theories, anti-vax campaigns, demonization of white people, etc. - are the same in the Congo, except much worse. WHO medical teams trying end the ebola outbreak have been under attack and many have had to leave the area. Now the disease, which kills more than half of all who get infected, is making a comeback. People think Europeans are there spreading the virus to kill Africans, or that they want to profit from selling unnecessary vaccines.
