In the normal course of events, one might expect the opposition to DJT to die down should he be acquitted. However, in this case I believe that not a few people view him as an existential threat to the Republic. Hence, I doubt that the active opposition will decrease significantly, unless he is re-elected and the Democrats don't win the Senate. If he does win, I expect he'll potentially have a period of peace, up until he gets caught committing another crime. Since he'll be a lame duck though, he may not be as motivated to break laws -- at least one can hope so. But the emoluments issue may come back into force, since he'll want to further pad his nest.
