Our drone strikes absolutely kill people. That said beware the source and always question the veracity of the information. It tends to be embellished and exaggerated.

Exactly and stop involving us in every brushfire that pops up around the world.

Our "industrial military complex" and our "forever wars" are out of control.

Both political parties are to blame. Hold both parties accountable!
Sounds like you are disrespecting the flag and our troops. Where is your patriotism?

I agree- its time to leave.

I never would have invaded Afghanistan in the first place. We should have just used fuel-air bombs and allowed our special forces to use it as a "playground" for a few years, then left. I don't think we should be committing troops all around the globe.

That area cannot, and has not, been conquered for any length of time. Just destroy their infrastructure and leave them to their misery.

Seriously...Patriotism? LOL

If our govt is engaging in wars to benefit the 'military industrial complex'...it would be the duty of every American citizen, to step and up and put a stop to this immediately!!

THAT would be patriotism.

A true patriotic American will not support and will denounce a military action that kills more innocent women and children than enemy forces. America has the technology to avoid this and if we cannot use it properly we should not use it. Anyone that approves or supports a military operation that kills women and children continuously and in large numbers has no justification to accuse one who using their human and 1st amendment right to object of being unpatriotic.

That is called "biting the hand that is feeding you".

All I have to say is "what's new"?

Biting the hand that feeds:

Quote:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes.
-- President Dwight Eisenhower, Farewell radio address to the American people, 1961

Quote:
So likewise, a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification. . . . And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens (who devote themselves to the favorite nation), facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation. . . .Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.
-- President George Washington, Farewell Address to the Nation,1796

Don't want your country bombed? Don't put in place radical governments that seek destruction and death to other nations. Its pretty simple.

Leaving victoriously? WTF? You don't need to permanently occupy a nation to defeat it; rob them of their wealth and infrastructure so that perhaps they will remember it in the future. If they rise up again and create violence around the world, rinse and repeat.

A world cannot exist by allowing violent extremists to disrupt world civilization and commerce and force a medieval system to replace western republics. Nations that embrace such notions are a cancer on the world and must be snuffed out.
If only we had not interfered in the 80s, and created the Mujihadeen which evolved into the Taliban.

Once 9/11 happened, MIC used as an excuse to make money. If it just anti-insurgency, black ops type operations, no one makes any money.
