This thread tells me one’s view on Vindman is guided by one of two binary schools of thought. If you believe the purpose of the government is to serve the President, then Vindman was out of line and was rightfully removed. If you believe the purpose of the government is to serve the people, then Vindman was a hero doing his duty and should be lauded for putting his country’s interests over his person interests.

Vindman did nothing of the sort. He saw something he felt was wrong and alerted the right people. When subpoenaed, he appeared and testified honestly. He didn’t opine in whether Trump should be impeached or removed, nor was that his role.
When you work in the Intelligence Community the available billets for promotion are very limited especially if you are on special assignments. The larger Communities such as Armor or Airborne have allowances for more promotable spots; to be where he is at in his career is not unusual.
Vindman is actually an infantry officer. But I definitely think he set his career back by taking a special assignment in DC. But guys like him are in short supply. His language and cultural knowledge make him a serious anomaly in the Army.

He will be reassigned to a radar tower in Antarctica. 10 months of winter per year and snowed in for 8 of them. It would be a damn shame if the supply ship didn't make it in and he starved to death.

Ok, why didn't people step up and call out Biden back then? It was Obama's intervention in the Ukraine situation that made Putin furious. The reason the Democrats believe Russians are involved with hacking because ever since Obama got involved with Ukraine, Putin had vowed to hit back at the Democrats.
