I've seen quite a few doctored videos - Dems and Republicans alike. I believe Biden and Bernie are fighting over one now. Nancy's action was inexcusable and I can bet 90% of the people already knew about her actions the next day. I don't believe the context presented really is a big deal - what she did was disgraceful and she thought Democrats would applaud her. Instead - it turned many of us farther away.
Everyone knew that piece was priceless. A gift to the Republicans to use for campaigning. Only Nancy didn't think of the consequences. That action is too good to pass up using for the Republican benefit and I don't see people sitting through 2 hrs to see it.
You don't need to sit through 2 hours to see anything. And you don't need to watch a DOCTORED video, either, since the video of her when she actually tore up her copy of the speech is also out there on the internet.
Yup. If you believe Pelsoi's actions performed at the time warrant criticism, criticism them. If you don't feel that way, don't. But to change the timing of her actions in a video to encourage criticism is dishonest. Its no different from someone caught on video booing or jeering and then altering the video to make it seem like they booed or jeered at a different point. Why not let people see the truth and draw their own conclusions rather than trying to mislead them?
This is exactly what I was talking about with respect to the intellectual honesty of the modern GOP.
Because that is what the video is doing, it's lying about WHEN she tore the speech up.
Lies do NOT add clarity.

Pelosi tore up the speech in which several people were honored. She then stated that she couldn't find any truth in said speech. This means that either a) she disagreed with every single one of these honors or b) her tearing up the speech was a knee-jerk reaction and her explanation was not thought out. Considering that she reportedly pre-ripped the speech in order to make it easier to tear at the end, (b) is not the answer.
The video clarifies for people that Pelosi cares nothing for the people who were honored. Is it edited in order to do so? Yep, it sure is, as other campaign ads and videos have been edited since the advent of visual media.
And yes, she is pissin and moanin about the video. She realized after the fact that she just supplied the Republicans with a gift that will keep on giving. The fact that she is the leader of the House Democrats and can't manage to keep her emotions under control enough to act like an adult should be a wakeup call for every hardline Democrat out there but instead, we have people trying to cover for her. Whether she ripped up the speech before, during, or after the event has no bearing on the fact that she tore up the speech. There is no way to shine a positive light on that action.

It is misleading. It tries to change the timeline of events. I respect you and your opinion, but there was a motivation to doctoring the video, and your argument ignores that.

I'm condemning posting a DOCTORED video. If you can't make your argument honestly, that's your problem. And a DOCTORED video is DISHONEST.
So you think people are too stupid to realize that Pelosi didn't tear up the same speech five times? Please. Her gesture was a repudiation of the ENTIRE speech and using the video as a political ad is sheer genius. She doesn't want anything good highlighted about America when Trump is in charge and she was sitting behind him during the SOTU mumbling to herself and rolling her eyes like a mental patient. She ripped up the speech. She screwed up. She deserves the consequences of her actions.
Every political ad is DOCTORED. If FB/Twitter takes this one down, they will have to take them all down. That's why they won't.
I bet we won't find any posts of you complaining about Schiff's doctored narrative between the Trump and Zelensky phone call that he read into the official record.

Kind of like, only a moron could take Adam Schiff's summary of the Trump phone call with the Ukraine and think it was supposed to be a literal recap of the conversation?
It wasn't "doctored" ......it was edited to show the highlights of Nancy's disrespect.
"Doctored" implies that it was manipulated or altered to show something that wasn't actually there or didn't actually happen..
And that's not the case.
It is the case. She didn't tear up the speech while Americans were being honored. She tore up the speech at its conclusion. The video was DOCTORED, to show her tearing it up at a different time.
Oh, I think the juxtaposition of all of a President honoring citizens of various ages, sexes, races, occupations, contrasts nicely with the pursed lip. venomous ripping apart the very words of a President of The United States,
contrast nicely.
Speaker Pelosi really is small. It is easy to see over the past three years that the President has gotten the best of her.
