The level enhancements - which Cobb conceded in the supplemental filing were applicable - are part of the guidelines. In asking the judge not to fully apply the enhancements or to otherwise water down their collective effect, in one sense the supplemental memo did in depart from the guidelines.

It doesn't matter.

I'm sure the judge has more experience than all involved parties together when it comes to applying the law and determining what a sentence should be.

Hardly like she needs any of them to tell her what the sentence should be.

The "Whatabout" defense is not a defense. Trump is not free to stab someone just because someone else shot someone. Criminal behavior does not excuse criminal behavior. You should have learned that in kindergarten.

I may not know, but the judge does. I'm confident her decision will be well reasoned. Trump, of course, can do what he wants. Nobody can stop him.

You proved nothing. The only hypocrisy was from the Tea Party GOP group's trying to gain non-profit status.

Trump simply doesnt think. Keep his mouth shut and not involve Barr, whos azz is in a sling now, and then just pardon Stone.

I wonder why he didn't just do that. He beiieves he can do anything he wants, and he is appearently correct.
Just pardon him and we will be on another outrage my Monday. I think there is a reason for it, but I have no idea what it is.

Excellent article from the WSJ explaining each of the sentencing guidelines if you can get past the paywall the only controversial seems to be threatening a witness which adds around 2 years.

How much time should Roger Stone serve in prison?
The answer to that question involves a complicated set of legal calculations at the heart of the disagreements within the Justice Department.
