Bizarre or not, it's a filing that says, "Judge, do what you think is right, but base it on an accurate understanding of the facts."
The level enhancements - which Cobb conceded in the supplemental filing were applicable - are part of the guidelines. In asking the judge not to fully apply the enhancements or to otherwise water down their collective effect, in one sense the supplemental memo did in depart from the guidelines.
If whoever started this nonsense thread did not have the same opinion(and those with the same stance) when Obama weighed in on the IRS scandal of targeting Conservative groups..then their stance is hypocritical.
The "Whatabout" defense is not a defense. Trump is not free to stab someone just because someone else shot someone. Criminal behavior does not excuse criminal behavior. You should have learned that in kindergarten.
You don't know whether or not the original sentencing recommendation followed published sentencing guidelines, and was moderate by established policy. The recommendations placed 'enhancements' on the guidelines that more than doubled the sentence. I understand you and many others believe Barr acted on Trump's behalf and therefore is automatically wrong in suggesting a lesser sentence.
I may not know, but the judge does. I'm confident her decision will be well reasoned. Trump, of course, can do what he wants. Nobody can stop him.
Looks like you are having trouble keeping up, not surprised.
The White House inserted itself in the matter is the hypocrisy that is going on here. Unless you were mad about them getting involved then, you shouldn't be mad about them getting involved in things now--but hypocrisy is nothing new coming from Democrats, it is on display every single day.
You proved nothing. The only hypocrisy was from the Tea Party GOP group's trying to gain non-profit status.
I wonder why he didn't just do that. He beiieves he can do anything he wants, and he is appearently correct.
Just pardon him and we will be on another outrage my Monday. I think there is a reason for it, but I have no idea what it is.

Excellent article from the WSJ explaining each of the sentencing guidelines if you can get past the paywall the only controversial seems to be threatening a witness which adds around 2 years.

How much time should Roger Stone serve in prison?
The answer to that question involves a complicated set of legal calculations at the heart of the disagreements within the Justice Department.
Amy Berman Jackson sounds like she is going to hit him for a high end sentence.
