So, a guy worth $3.1 billion who buys an election is NOT a plutocrat, but a guy worth $65 billion who buys an election IS a plutocrat?
LOL, yeah right. They're both billionaires who bought, or are trying to buy, election to the presidency. Who cares how many billions?
Soooo..........you think that 65 million is roughly analagous to 10 billion??
Be honest: do you believe that a million is almost as much a billion?? DO you??
lol
(And Bloomie is a media mogul........as in, literally DOES own a big piece of the media).
And you love him, and are not bothered at all by someone (for the first time in human history) spending BILLIONS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to buy the Presidency.

We understand each other!
I respect someone who is trying to make a difference in this world with his wealth. If he donates a great deal of money so they can get a cure for cancer, I'm all for that. Wouldn't you be? I guess not. That doesn't mean I love him. I have two other candidates in mind that I am leaning towards. But I'm not gonna diss a guy just because he has money. Not when he is trying to do good things with it.
BOTH parties are the party of plutocracy. Who do you think funds both parties?
Well see, son......what we have here is an ACTUAL plutocrat (to the tune of 70 billion US dollars), who is willing to spend........well, who KNOWS how much?? Looks like at least $5 billion and maybe 10. Or more.
Now, we have never seen anything like this. Nothing like this has ever happened. (We have heard lots of shrill talk about plutocrats, and to be fair, Trump is wealthy.........although Dems love to point out that he's a charlatan and isn't really wealthy at all.).
But let's cut to the chase: 50 million (Trump) is a plutocrat.
Well then what does that make Bloomie and his TEN BILLION spent on this race???

I never dis ANY ONE for simply having money. No matter how wealthy.
But how do you feel about plutocracy?? (i.e. the uber-wealthy buying political power).

The numbers I cited were $3.1 billion and $65 billion, and I used recent estimates. Both men are billionaires. From the standpoint of your everyday person both are spectacularly wealthy - wealthy enough to buy themselves the White House on their own. That makes them both plutocrats.
My heartfelt thanks to Bloomberg for contributing to an already healthy economy! Thant's what people will be focused on when they go to vote.
Warrne gave him a good splap down the other night. Things can change in an instant - remember how Hillary had the election sewn up!
Very true. No one predicted Trump would win, but win he did. 2016 taught us that elections can have very surprising outcomes, and 2020 might just provide another one of those surprises.
It ain't over till the fat lady sings!
