There need to be special transgender units, whether it’s a segregated wing within an established prison or a special facility. My guess is the safest place would be two wings or sections, one for each original biology, of transgenders/transsexuals within a women’s prison. Frankly, it’s all about avoiding being placed in a male prison. Ever notice how female-to-male prisoners don’t seem to demand to be in a men’s prison?

All true but I'm going to assume any guy who gets raped in prison was unable to fight off the person or people who raped him. The story here is not that a woman got raped in prison by a trans guy, it's that people get raped in prison all the time, and not only can't we stop it completely, we often don't care to. We've accepted that rape is part of the punishment for criminals in our society.
