KYIV — A court ruling in Ukraine has forced state investigators to open a probe into alleged pressure by then-vice president Joe Biden that led to the 2016 dismissal of Viktor Shokin as the country’s prosecutor general, officials said Thursday.
President Trump last year pressed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for an investigation of this kind, leading to Trump’s impeachment by the House and his eventual acquittal in a Senate trial.
I think that the Ukrainian authorities will sabotage this investigation until November election, just in case. They learned a lesson (I hope) in 2016 when the Ukrainian political officials supported one side in American election.
Where is this investigation going to go when they look at testimony from George Kent, Fiona Hill, and Bill Taylor and find out that Biden was simply promoting official US policy as instructed and that Shokin's removal had nothing to do with Burisma or Hunter Biden? Nowhere. That's where it will go.
