Pittsburgh Penguins announce that players and the Pengiuns and Lemieux Foundations will pay all ticket takers, concession and cleaning staff during the suspension of their season. Three cheers . . . .!

In other news, Pirates owner Bob Nutting announces $5 off lift tickets at Seven Springs and a FREE subscriptions to a newspaper from some town in West Virginia for all hourly PNC park staff.

The second news flash is from the comments section of the PPG article announcing the first one. Sorry. Could not resist!

Pens are a class act.

That is hilarious as Nutting would never even give that much.

All public libraries in the state have also been ordered closed by Tom Wolf. Carnegie Library will be open for limited service tomorrow, and then be closed for two weeks.

Wolf is also reportedly mulling closing all Wine & Spirits.

This would be the biggest economic stimulus package for the moonshine industry since prohibition.

Can you imagine the lines before that would go into effect? Would not want to be working there that day.

They’re just doing what they feel is best for everyone.

Not really best for everyone, is WV and OH going to close all stores? You will just have people making long trips with more stops to stock up on things. I don't really care, I goto a state store about 2 times a year.

Not sure, but I do know Ohio has taken precautions before Pittsburgh has, and unless something has changed, it seems WV folks wash their hands as there weren’t any cases reported there last I heard.

I get it. It’s interesting, however, that most everything they’ve done has been given praise and approval, except when the liquor store may be shut down

One confirmed case in Washington County. The first in the Pittsburgh area. We are under a state of emergency. I haven’t heard of morgues being overrun or people dying in the streets elsewhere. It looks like this is a huge overreaction. The economic toll is going to be steep.
